@lawsonspedding6136 Not true. For offences which are not of a serious nature and police can't justify a no bail situation then you are placed on bail with conditions.

@lawsonspedding6136 That would be wrong, undemocratic and against human rights. But I was not talking about Starmer, I was talking about the legal system as a whole, what police can and can't do. Blanket no bail is coersion and against PACE 1984 (without fear or favour. Because when a person is on bail pending investigation, then unless there are reasonable grounds to suspect the person may abscond or commit further offence of that nature then bail must be granted. What Starmer says he will do is plain wrong. But have we any evidence that people are being given no bail without those considerations?
