  2.  @neilchapman5145  From what I have looked at there is no reason why you can't revert to a dumb meter providing you pay for the meter and the installation yourself. The supplier will try to make it difficult, and if you expect them to do it I think as you say you will be stuck with it. Afterall you do rent the meter from them and that is a chunk of the cost.

  3. Smart meters not only catch fire, they also kill plants around them. You won't see any insects around them either. God knows what they will do to you if they are in your house! Check out the effects of EMF on living things. Not only that your meter could be a 'collector meter' gathering readings from meters around you from other properties, but you'll never know. Avoid them like the plague because they could switch you off whenever they feel like it or reduce your usage.
