I'm in my 70s I know about these smart phones. I call them a Ball & Chain because that is what they are. They made them indispensable to many who couldn't see the writing on the wall, but I could. I do not do Smart anything. Maybe that's because I AM smart? The other day I went into Waitrose but the manned / womanned (or other) till was closed. I stood there with my trolley and called to a member of staff asking if the would open this till and they did. I will NOT use self service checkouts.
