  4. That's because they alleged victim has just stated that nothing happened so they have no right to look at anyone's phones or PCs. If the police have no victim then they can't investigate. I suspect that someone else will come forward with evidence so he won't get away with the others.

  5. Police can't just start an investigation without an allegation of a crime. To search an address a warrant is necessary and to get a warrant, evidence is required.

  6. I am sure it was discussed between him and his wife and they took this course of action so due process was stopped in its tracks. He would have a top lawyer advising them both. I am sure it wasn't anything to do with pressure or morals.

  7.  @clivewilliams3661  High profile people who are paid millions by us should have no privacy, especially when it comes to immorality - as this appears to have been. The BBC doesn't need to be brought into disrepute it is already there!! The damaging of innocent parties was because of speculation as you say, but again, these people have shown themselves up in the past to be less than trustworthy. They have not been above reproach at all. The only reason there is no criminal case is because the alleged victim has refuted all allegations so police have no justification to investigate any further. However, let's wait and see what rears its ugly head in a few weeks.
