  1. The police have in the past always been flying close to the wind because they had to. They had to know the big guys and the big guys had to know them. They did have some respect for each other of sorts, but that was a long time ago. Since then it has become much much worse with the Est European gangs et al. Any mutual respect has gone and so have the old time coppers. . We are no longer in the 60s and 70s.
