  4.  danswhite8544  Not when I was in the job. Every crime was investigated but we were hamstrung by the CPS in the early days. Before the CPS took over we would decide whether we took it to court or not and often we would give it a run. Policing back then and now are totally different and that is probably what you don't understand.

  6. As a retired police officer I can tell you that the jury doesn't always hear all the evidence. Often evidence is held as inadmissible after being hammered out as pre trial issues, but is often quite relevant.

  13. Behaviour in the classroom reminds me of the behaviour in parliament. But the kids do have an excuse. Police should tell these people when they call, that it is not a police matter. End it there, not send an officer who will be placed in a difficult situation to explain the same thing in person. As a police officer (retired 2009) we always dealt with these things in that way to relieve the pressure on the troops on the ground.
