danswhite8544 Not when I was in the job. Every crime was investigated but we were hamstrung by the CPS in the early days. Before the CPS took over we would decide whether we took it to court or not and often we would give it a run. Policing back then and now are totally different and that is probably what you don't understand.

As a retired police officer I can tell you that the jury doesn't always hear all the evidence. Often evidence is held as inadmissible after being hammered out as pre trial issues, but is often quite relevant.
