When was in the Met I was asiigned a position in CID to specifically deal with screened out burglaries. That was around 2000. On several occasions I had good leads and sometimes a real suspect but I was given no support, no vehicle and little assistance from other districts who couldn't be bothered to follow through and help me with my investigations. It was an up hill struggle so don't always blame individual officers, it's the system. That said, police are not the same as they were.

When I was in the police there was some racism, but it wasn't as rife as some say it was. On several occasions officers stepped in a took the offender to task.
