  6. Why do I need to find items in the game, that I'll never will without a wiki, to make it easier or harder? Just give me the difficulty options in the settings. Although I understand Asmon's point and I suggest a combination of both through stat-scaling difficulty settings AND extra modifiers either thru settings or game items. Like those in dark souls 2 you could burn in the bonfire to make an area harder. Or modifiers on server-style games where you can fine tune not just basic stats but other modifiers
