Stuff needed to setup solar is too much expensive. Like an inverter for an example. A 1kW inverter cost 170$ and 540watt panels cost 205$ So with just considering these 2 factors (forgetting batteries, cables, etc...) You'd pay 400$ for solar panels and just below half of that for something most people don't know what it's used for, or don't care. Most people will just be like 'i have to pay 170$ just so I can use my solar panels which cost 400$' And we are talking on a small scale of 1kw, not 5 or more. That's why I think whoever is researching solar, should shift some of their focus onto reducing the price of the components requires for solar. There is literally a massive market for solar in 3rd rate countries(or other) where governments can't supply 24/7 electricity and if the price of a solar system become affordable, a ton of people would switch as it increase not only their home satisfaction if you will, but also improves their businesses which need power to run from the most basic things such as lamps to production machines.
