@anmolbedi58 Agree. Aryans means nobility. Or people who access consciousness 24 hours a day.
4
Where is the evidence for these assertions. Krishna, Draupadi and Agastya are black. The ancient world had a lot of fluidity in professions with people doing very different things from their parents. India has long been the protector of the family of the prophet and saved Mohammed SAW's family from Takfiris in 632 AD.
3
@AliSidTex Krishna literally means black. So does "Krishnaa" . . aka Draupadi . . . the main protagonist, heroine in the Mahabharata. She is also the most beautiful and powerful woman in the world in the story. Very intelligent too. They were widely known for being black and many of the idols that represent them are black. Ergo, historically black has been associated with beauty and physical attractiveness and intelligence. "Tall dark and handsome" does not come out of nowhere. All over the world, even today, people want to become "black" if they can.
3
Jati existed before. And things were not perfect. However, there was a lot of mobility of jati within professions and among varnas. There was a high degree of meritocracy. However, the Europeans brought the idea of high and lower. And arbitrarily declared half the royal families of India and much of the business leadership as "low caste." Part of the situation may have been that they didn't understand what they were doing and were completely overwhelmed by the diversity of India.
3
The richest and most successful Indians are dark. Tall dark and handsome. Tamilians. Some people associate being fair with beauty privilege. But this is unrelated to economic outcomes.
3
Jati and Varna are unrelated to skin color. Plus Jatis frequently changed professions and varnas until recently. Aren't darker people the more successful people in society?
3
Jati has nothing to do with appearance or skin color.

@thehandifanwith9386 There is no evidence of any Aryan invasion. Arya or Aryan means nobility or when someone is in 24 hour meditation.
2
Where do you come up with this? Krishna and Draupadi were black.
2
@AliSidTex Krishna energetically has many similarities with Imam Ali. Many muslims and India and Indonesia regard Krishna and others to be muslim prophets from before Abraham.
2
@AliSidTex Respect your perspective Akhi Ali. And I agree with you about Muhammed being predicted by various ancient sanskrit texts such as Bhavishya Purana. I think the way many Indonesian and Indian muslims regard Krishna and others to be among the 124 thousand ancient nabi or prophets is very beautiful.
2
Where is the evidence for this? Krishna and Draupadi and Agastya were black. Colorism appears to be modern phenomenon. Perhaps associated with Europeans. Perhaps with Arab invaders.
2
Jati and Varna (two different things) have nothing to do with hue of skin and appearance.
2
There is no evidence for the aryan invasion theory.
2
@Batega_toh_Katega_Hindu_108 Well described. So well described, I will share this with others.
2
@anmolbedi58 South Indians are economically booming. Not only Tamilians, but South Indians in general. The fairer hue Indians in Kashmir, Punjab, UP, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttarakhand are not as affluent. Although they are now rising too. This is widely known.
2
@Goldenfly737 🙂 Tamilian males are babe magnets.
2
Is there any evidence of an Aryan invasion? Arya means nobility and refers to accessing consciousness 24 hours a day. It has nothing to do with skin color.
1
Jati and Varna had nothing to do with skin color. Jatis use to frequently change professions and varnas.
1
India has had several. Including the current woman president.
1
@timasuna1756 There was a lot of fluidity with people changing professions.
1
@ashelythas7017 100%. And colorism is a subset of perceived "beauty privilege". "Beauty privilege" being partly but not mostly socially constructed, and in large part irrational. Caste is also a European word and consists of many different conflated issues such as Jati, Varna and many multi-dimensional intersectional groupings.
1
Where is the evidence for this? Many of the greatest and most beautiful people in ancient Indian history were black. Krishna. Draupadi. Black was considered very beautiful. Many of the greatest sages were blacks. Agastrya for example. Black Indians were the leaders for India for thousands of years.
1
@anmolbedi58 What does "Krishna" literally mean? Aside from one who attracts. Many of the deities of Krishna from around the world are depicted as "black". See the descriptions of Krishna in the Hari Vamsha and the contrast between black Krishna and white Balarama. Black and white are both divine. Veda Vyaasa was also called Krishna and was similarly very dark. Black is beautiful. Black is divine.

Before the English and islamists, jatis moved a lot between professions and varnas.
1
Varnas had many functions. One was: Separation of church from state Separation of church from business Separation of business from state
1
@mohasat01 rephrase then: Separation of religion from state Separation of religion from business Separation of business from state This was one of the main functions of the varna system.
1
@mohasat01 Varna is by guna and karma. This is explicitly state in many places, not just manu smriti. Brahmins are suppose to stay out of government, politics and business. Kshatriyas are suppose to stay out of religion and business. Vaishyas are suppose to stay out of politics and religion. There was great wisdom to this.
1
@mohasat01 Many texts (including in the Vedas and many dharma shaastras and many puranas) allow for people and entire jatis to switch varnas. And this seems to have been common before Europeans arrived. Manu smriti explicitly states that everyone is born a shudra and that varna is by guna and karma. BTW, many other dharma shaastras were more influential than manu smriti. And dharma shaastras in general were not that influential.
1
How so? Do you mean that Indians prioritize high academic, business and career performance too much?
1
In India, darker skinned people do slightly better economically than fair skinned people. If you return to India now, you will find that India is a far less poor and far moer developed place.
1
Jati and varna are unrelated to skin color. Jatis use to switch professions and varnas until recently. In modern times, however, being fair has become associated with beauty privilege for females.
1
Isn't it about beauty privilege? And about favoring beautiful people over rich and successful people (who if anything trend darker)?
1
Please elaborate. Do you mean that Indians are far too focused on academics, business and career?
