Colonialism isn't always bad. For example, when Israel governed Gaza, Gaza had more than twice the per capita income she had in 2022. Oslo 1993 was a socio-economic catastrophe for Gaza and the West Bank.
If Israel were to directly govern Gaza again; wouldn't it lead to a socio-economic miracle in Gaza with exponential increases in Gazan income, wealth, academic and health outcomes?
There are downsides too. Therefore, colonization should be temporary while a massive FID effort it is made to increase local perfection, excellence, merit, capacity, competence, self reliance, strong local institutions.
Just imagine how successful Congo would become if a great hero such as Paul Kagame lead an international colonization force to make Congo great again.

@AdamWood-dx7xm Can you describe a recent colonial government post 1970 so that I can better understand you?
"You move in an artificial governing body to ensure compliance, construct your temporary production communities and implements, extract the necessary resources, leave entirely, and or institute a puppet government."
The modern global left and global woke define any government they disagree with as a "puppet government." Even Paul Kagame, Ruto, Bola Tinubu, Mokgweetsi Masisi, Yoweri Museveni. I happen to think the world of these five leaders.
Whenever a country does well and makes rapid progress, angry foreigners accuse them of being a puppet country ruled by a puppet government. I think this is abominable.
This idea of "ensure compliance, construct your temporary production communities and implements, extract the necessary resources, leave entirely" is a very backwards socialist, dumb idea. We benefit from the rise and success of others, as others benefit from our success. We want free trade, free investment, free joint R&D collaboration with other countries and greatly benefit from this. Most of the global left and global woke call this as "construct temporary production communities and implements, extract the necessary resources" . . . which is a psychotic reality free way of understanding the real world.
