  2. "caste" means jati. There are 5 million jatis in India by some estimates. Indian immigrants who come to the USA generally come from poverty or are one or two generations removed from it. But come with cultural and educational capital.

  8. I think the UK is far more anti Indian than the USA. Salvatore Babones write and talks about this. Many in the UK resent Indians, Chinese, Jews for their success and there is a lot of blowback against Indians, Chinese and Jews.

  16. Hispanic marriages (with elite latinos) and Igbo marriages are common. Elite Indian Sufis marry Indian Hindus at high rates. Indians tend to marry other elites and not care about these categories.

  17.  @amritpatel3794  I think we agree. For example, what Indian family wouldn't like their daughter marrying Shah Rukh Khan and Le Bron James (assuming they were still young.) Indians don't' mind their daughters marrying elite latinos, blacks, liberal sufi muslims.
