  1. Would love to hear Cynthia's thoughts on the differences between muslims in different countries. Which groups of muslims are more islamist? Which muslims are more like her and Gaad? Agree with her that the world is full of good liberal muslims.

  3. Don't legal immigrants socio-economically outperform multi-generational Americans? Doesn't the USA need to do a much better job attracting talented immigrants to come to the USA and stay in the USA long term? Won't this sharply increase the USA's share of global income and wealth ceteris paribus and sharply increase US per capita GDP? Instead of using "third world", why doesn't Brigette use the phrase "islamism" immigrants?

  5. @DixieC-vj2sg What is the downside to talented, skilled, elite or affluent immigrants in your view? Here are some commonly cited ones: --they lead to rapid gentrification of a country or region --the domination of the host country economy by market dominant minorities leads to a nasty nativist backlash, growing resentment, blowback and jealousy. We are already seeing a growing and increasingly violent backlash in the UK against market dominant minorities (Jews and Indians in particular . . . but I think large scale violence against Chinese is only a matter of time.) In the USA, the emergence of market dominant minorities isn't as far along. There are other downsides to successful immigrants. What say you?

  9. In particular Arafat and the PLO slaughtered Amal and shiites. This was completely uncalled for and unacceptable. Arafat started the Lebanese civil war in 1975 in my opinion and destroyed Lebanon--transforming Lebanon from a first world developed high income country into a country with a lower projected per capita income than India in 2025.
