@mnguardianfan7128 I would recommend you read the work of Peter Boghossian on wokeness.
If you wish to better understand wokeness from a global perspective, you can read "Snakes in the Ganga." Peter Boghossian wrote one of the two forwards for this book. This book discusses wokeness from an Indian, US and global perspective.
Wokeness is the combination of post modernity (which in turn comes from structuralism a la Ferdinand de Saussure) with Herbert Marcuse's Frankfurt school of cultural marxism. People are assigned to narrowly described groups (regardless of whether or not these groups have any meaning), these groups are rarified, and these groups are divvied up between oppressor and oppressed (usually nonsensically).
The "Snakes in the Ganga" authors often describe how wokeness is weaponized as breaking liberal democracy forces. Breaking Canada, USA, UK, Europe, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Singapore, India forces.
Jagmeet and Trudeau are woke. Much of the Indian institutional media, government, academia, think tank ecosystem, establishment is woke. However, the vast majority of the Indian public is not extreme woke. Hence the clash.
In asia, the definition of "woke" is complicated by lbgtq+ and femnism. Very conservative traditional asians back lbgtq+ and strong females and strong divine feminine as part of their many thousand year old civilization and culture--and see anti lbgtq+ and patriarchy as churchianity (christian extremist . . . understanding that many christians are not extremist) and islamist imperialist imposition.
NDTV use to be an Indian woke outlet. But recently has moderated.
Hope this helps? Youtube does not allow links to be posted.

@SteveHill-dk5xl It is an organic Canadian issue led by increasingly radicalized 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation Canadian youth. They are radicalized and supported by the Pakistani Army and Communist Party of China.
When in pubic opinion polls 95% of Sikhs say they oppose Khalistan, how can you say it is an Indian issue? It is an issue led by Canadians. An issue of multi-generational Canadian youth threatening, attacking and killing other Canadians and non Canadians. Canadian Khalistanis have killed many Sikhs.
Only Canadians can solve this problem. And Khalistan is a far greater threat to Canada and Canadians than it is the USA, India, UK, Australia.
"People has the right to free speech, to advocate for an independent state if they so wish." Presumably you would agree that Canadians have the right to join the KKK and advocate for the mass killing of African Americans and for African Americans to be ruled by a group of people who are 1% as numerous? Canadians can advocate for this and raise money for this, but other Canadians should have the courage and decency to stand up to their fellow Canadians and say this is not right.
Note that Canadian Khalistanis want to carve out a state where about 10% of the population is Sikh. As you know 95% of Sikhs oppose this idea. Canadian Khalistanis want to impose the rule of 1% of the population over 99% of the population. They want to do this with the support of the Pakistani Army and Communist Party of China (CPC.) The only way this could possibly come to fruition is by force. By ripping the liberal free democracy people in the area currently enjoy.
Why don't Canadians have the courage to say this is wrong? We do not support 1% of the population imposing their will over 99% of the population by force? Especially since people in India already live in a liberal free democracy broadly comparable to the USA. The way to deal with bad speech or hate speech is better speech. Canadians refuse to use their free speech to denounce anti liberal anti free ideas.
