If so, then you should recognize that countries with the English legal system (UK, Ireland, Canada, India, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia) don't have free speech the way the USA does. The USA has the first amendment, which other countries do not have.
There are significant limitations on free speech and free press in British Commonwealth nations. Some of these restrictions flow from the right to sue under indemnity law.
These indemnity lawsuits are common in Canada, UK, India, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore etc. And they dampen free speech and free press.
There is also a "hate speech" legal problem.
I think these restrictions on free speech and free press are major problems and that other countries should move towards the USA model.
