Ben, why is India the world's fastest growing economy? India specializes in business services, technology services, technology R&D, and technology manufacturing. Part of the reason for this is because India is trying to lower the ratio of (CO2 emissions)/(real GDP)
India's comparative advantage is in first world knowledge production, not low end services. Sadly, because of socialism and India's aversion to inequality, India is trying to suppress this sector.
I think India should let the Indian tech sector loose And if it means that over a third of the world's billioniares become Indians, so be it.
Ben and the CPC (communist party of china) will fight this tooth and nail. But let Ben. Ben will lose.
FYI, Asia is rallying against the Pres Xi's aggression. Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Vietnam, Philippines, Sri Lanka are working together to contain Xi's harsh aggression. Indonesia (which also has one of the fastest growing economies in the world and of whom I am an enormous fan) is tilting towards this caolition to contain Xi's aggression too.
Ben, it would by wise of you to back the strong horse. The Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Vietnam, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Australia grouping. Don't go down with Pres Xi.

Ben Norton, your statistics are deeply and intentionally inaccurate. Most Asians are benefiting from as asian economic miracle on a scale the world has never seen before. Soon, most of the world's billionaires and wealth are likely to be held by ethnic Asians.
And it goes far beyond China. Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, Brunei, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, Israel, Mongolia have all seen economic miracles and massive reductions in poverty and massive increases in real per capita GDP and wealth.
We see a similar economic miracle in Eastern Europe and some parts of Africa and Latin American.
North West Europe is falling behind Asia, eastern Europe, parts of Latin America and parts of Africa. Falling behind technologically and economically. Please discuss the real issues.
You know this is true. Why discuss delusions of grandeur and mountains of sand about a North West European mythic past that your audience knows no longer exists?

@HLC64 Most Asian economies are booming. England, Canada and many other developed countries are falling behind.
Ben should not lie about this and admit the rest (not just China, which is also rising) is rising fast and increasingly outperforming Canada, Italy, UK and many parts of Europe.
The UK, Canada, Italy, Greece have massive brain drain to Eastern Europe, Asia, USA, parts of Latin America and Africa.
It hurts the egos of many British, Canadians, Italians, Greeks and other Europeans to admit the truth.
