  1. You, in fact, can earn or buy tax breaks. Example: if you provide low(er) income housings in certain areas, you get gov grants and/or tax breaks. Similarly, donations are deductible from taxation. I'm sure there are countless other ways that I don't know about. So yes, technically, you can negotiate. Just not in the pity party way you're talking about.
