  2. OMG, this reminds me of the time when I was acquittanced with a habitual liar. Liars tend to sink you along with themselves, so if you're in their blast radius ... yikes! She and I went to study abroad on the same trip so our parents sorta got to know each other, just to get updates. Even though she's from a real hotshot political family, she doesn't have that many braincells. Instead of owning up to ... sucking in school, she would feed her Moms lies that I was failing. So her Mom would bother my Mom with the "poor your daughter" crap. Eerrr, I graduated Summa Cum Laude?? Even then, I didn't even talk about it; you would only know when I walked up when my name was called in the ceremony. Normalize under-sell and over-deliver.
