  1. Is it possible to always have Theory of Mind? I don't have a single piece of memory where I was ToM blind, aka thinking I was the only consciousness that mattered. And I have good vivid memories from like 2ish years old.

  3. Genuine question: what kind of time is truly lost in childhood before 18? I mean you're supposed to dilly dally when you're literally A CHILD. It's called CHILDHOOD. Legally, you can't do sheet on your own. And when he came of age, his parents let him choose his own adventures. I know parents who held on for dear life and never let go, infantizing their children so that their children don't even resemble adults. I knew an almost 40yo woman who still speaks in baby voice, at work, seriously; it's fking weird.

  5. I actually understand his sense of humor. It's like plot twist humor, but in inappropriately dark scenario's. It's adjacent to my sense of humor, under the unexpected umbrella. Maybe it's coping mechanism. Somewhat reminiscent of the plot line of "The Stranger" by Camus with the protagonist embracing absurdism. And I believe the protagonist is neurodivergent in some ways, not directly mentioned in the book. I'm going to use the phrase "that is deeply unsettling" as a meme response whenever someone says something incredibly stupid.
