  1. "automatic" is just a carry-over from the time period. They didn't have full auto firearms, so anything self-loading was called automatic. That's why we invented the term "fully automatic" to make the distinction.

  2. Modern firearms are a terrible investment. No telling if their value will skyrocket or plummet. Unless you mean "good investment for shooting" in which case I would hope any custom rifle is
