  1. I'm not as familiar with single-shots or early breechloaders. Is it uncommon for them to be self-cocking? I know many of them don't, and I know that the Winchester 1885 does, or at least early ones did. I'm sure Kuhn isn't the only one other than Browning who tackled this issue. Still, he sure was clever.
