Damn this is a really smart design. Shame about that whole war thing getting in the way

Randolf iserman Did you read my comment at all? I already said it'll kill just fine, but when you're a soldier in a big military, you don't have much choice which rifle you can take. The Russians stuck with the Mosin for so long because it was SIMPLE and CHEAP. Also, Simo used a Finnish modified Mosin. The Finnish rifles are superior to Russian Mosins without retaining any of its faults. It IS a crude rifle. The bolt is always sticky, the action is rough and has loose clearances (especially later models) and it has poor protection from mud ingress. It is reliable in the sense that parts breakage is extremely unlikely, and it is very simple to operate and disassemble. This is important when considering that the majority of the Russian army was made up of peasant soldiers. You need to give them a rifle that is simple yet effective. The Mosin is, but again compared to it's contemporaries it is in fact a poor rifle. It's not like I even hate the Mosin. It's an ok gun, but since I live in a world where my milsurp rifle choice is vast, I do not care for the Mosin unless it is Finnish.

Randolf iserman It is practically a gun meme to call the Mosin a "garbage rod" due to it's fairly crude design and mechanics. Will it kill someone? Sure. Would I drop it for any of its contemporaries? In a heartbeat. In fact, some soldiers would favor the 1895 Winchester, a lever action design from 20 years prior, over their own Mosins. It wasn't a very good rifle.

Guys I think this is sarcasm. I'm not 100% but it reads like sarcasm to me.
