  1. Even though I know the RPK is better, I've always preferred the RPD on account of looks. It is peak Russian aesthetic.

  2.  @LolTollhurst  every dimension, huh? Weight is a dimension, and the RPK is 2lbs lighter which is better. Barrel length is also a dimension, and the RPK is longer despite being the same overall length as the RPD. Number of parts is yet another dimension, and hey would you look at that? The RPK has less parts than the RPD and shares many of those parts with a supporting rifle. The only dimension the RPD actually beats out the RPK is capacity, which isn't as relevant for a squad automatic. The RPD is arguably the better LMG, but the RPK is definitely the better SAW and that's what the Russians wanted.
