Well, Suni was already for six months on the ISS in 2006 and for four months in 2012
1
What did NASA wrong? It was Boeing that could not do their job. The two now came back with a regular NASA flight, executed by SpaceX. Like the eight flights before since 2020.
1
Panic and fear, what? Several astronauts live up there all there time, since 2000. They have regular crew changes. And Suni Williams has been there already in 2006 for six months and in 2012 for four months. And now unplanned for nine months. And since September it was a "regular" stay, because they just became part of that mission. Two originally planned astronauts, who should have stayed there from September 24 to March 25, stayed at home and instead these two took over their shift.
1
They came back with a regular NASA/SpaceX flight. This was not a rescue mission. Since 2020 four NASA astronauts fly to the ISS, stay there for about half a year, then are relieved by the next four astronauts. This here was one of these regular NASA flights. The only unregular thing was: It arrived in September with only two instead of the usual four astronauts. The other two originally planned astronauts stayed at home, and the two "stranded" took over their shift.

Are you kidding? What does Trump has to do with it?
1
LOL, what? Trump has absolutely nothing to do with this. It was decided last summer that they become part of the "Crew-9" mission, so that they would come back now with this regular flights. That also would have happened if Harris would be president. And Elon Musk? Well, without him probably the spacecraft would not exist. But he is irrelevant for this particular flight.
1
What? The ISS is inhabited continuously for 25 years. Several astronauts live there all the time, each for several months (there are regular crew changes). It is fully equipped, they often have these kind of talks, so also these microphones. These two astronauts were just two additional guests, who stayed longer than planned. And actually between September 24 and March 25 they were not additional. Instead two original planned astronauts who should arrive in September and come back in March, stayed at home and these two took over their shift.
1
Joe Biden decided (well, probably not him, but it was decided in Summer when he was president) that the two became part of the Crew-9 mission so now came back with the regular scheduled end of Crew-9.
1
How is the speed relevant? When we are sitting together in an airplane, then I can take a clear picture of you, although you move with 900 km/h. That works because I also move with 900 km/h. Speed is always relative. So only the speed between the earth and the camera is relevant.

There are big misconceptions about this whole situation. The ISS is inhabited for 25 years. Several astronauts live there all the time. There are regular supply ships, and regular crew changes. So the two astronauts here arrived on June 5 and should only stay for eight days (it was a special test flight of a new spacecraft, so independent from the regular crew, independent from the regular crew changes). But then it became more than eight days. I am sure that they had more with them and that the ISS has more on stock so that they can feed two additional guests for a while. And then on August 5 (so two months after their arrival) there was a regular supply mission anyway, so a cargo spacecraft with stuff was brought up. And so they could bring a bit more than usual because of the additional guests and because the stock was exhausted more than usual in the last weeks because of the two extra guests. And then on September 29 the "Crew-9" spacecraft arrived at the ISS. So the regular Crew Change spacecraft. And from that moment they even were no additional guests anymore. Instead they just became part of the mission. Usually four new astronauts arrive, stay there for about half a year, and come back. But Crew-9 only arrived with two astronauts, while two originally planned astronauts stayed at home. And the two "stranded" took over their shift.

In September "Crew-9" arrived, with only two instead of the usual four astronauts. Two originally planned astronauts stayed at home, so the two "stranded" astronauts took over their shift.

"If Biden had won the election they would be there indefinitely. " What? It was decided under Biden that they would come back now with this exact spacecraft last summer, so it was decided under Biden. The "Crew-9" spacecraft arrived in September with only two instead of the usual four astronauts. So two originally planned astronauts stayed at home, and these two took over their shift. And Trump has nothing to do with any of this. Stop spreading bullshit.
1
What exactly was the offer? To send an extra rocket and spacecraft? And SpaceX would have paid for it? They were never in danger. It was just decided that they became part of the regular Crew-9 mission. Two originally planned astronauts stayed at home, the two "stranded" took over their shift.
1
Well, it was extended work time. Two originally planned astronauts of the Crew-9 mission (September to March) stayed at home and they took over their shift.
1
What did Elon Musk do? They came back with a regular NASA/SpaceX flight, This was not a rescue mission.
1
Why do you spread this complete bullshit?

They became part of Crew-9, which arrived in September with only two instead of the usual four astronauts. So two other originally planned astronauts stayed at home and the two "stranded" took over their shift.
1
They were not "stranded". They were never in danger. The spacecraft that they used to finally came back, arrived in September and was docked on the ISS all the time. So in case of emergency they could have come back any time. Like always. There are regular crew changes: Four astronauts go to the ISS and stay there for about half a year. At the end of their shift the next four astronauts arrive, there is some time with both crews up there, then the first crew goes back to earth. It was just a financial decision to not send a "rescue mission", but that instead the two "stranded" astronauts became part of the "Crew 9" mission (from September 24 to March 25). Two originally planned astronauts of Crew 9 stayed at home and the two "stranded" took over their shift. BTW it is also a financial decision that no human was on the moon since 1972.
1
The International Space Station is inhabited by several astronauts all the time, for 25 years. They were just two additional guests who stayed longer than planned. And from September until their return, they just became part of a regular mission. Two originally planned astronauts stayed at home, so the two "stranded" took over their shift.
1
Why should they?
1
What are you talking about? Trump has nothing to do with this. It was decided in summer that they become part of the Crew-9 mission, which arrived at September at the ISS and came back now. A regular scheduled flight. But it arrived with only two instead of the regular four astronauts in September. The other two originally planned astronauts stayed at home and the two "stranded" took over their shift.
1
Well, they decided that instead of sending an extra rocket (which would be very expensive), they instead became part of the regular "Crew-9" mission, that arrived in September and came back in March. Usually there are four astronauts in one of these regular NASA missions, but here it arrived with only two astronauts. The two other originally planned astronauts stayed at home, and the two "stranded" took over their shift. And as you said, the ISS is supplied all the time. For example there was a regular supply with a cargo ship in August and in November.
