Germany would have two choices: either invade Czechoslovakia and get bogged down or slowly collapse due to their economy. Just stand firm. The second time all Chamberlain had to do was stand firm. Not accept AH’s expanded territorial demands. He instead swallowed any principals he ever had and gave into them, even sending a diplomat Sir Horris Wilson to negotiate. Just stand firm. The third time all Chamberlain had to do was stand firm. Not send a letter to Mussolini, encouraging him to stop AH. If this letter wasn’t sent, Germany would have invaded Czechoslovakia and failed. Just stand firm. The fourth time all Chamberlain had to do was stand firm. Not accept Mussolini’s and AH’s proposals and not sign the Munich Diktat. Just stand firm.
