Thank you for this review! I agree with almost what you said. I am not a JAG man In general, but I do own a project eight that I bought in July 2021. In fact, I bought the last brand-new, previously untitled Project 8 in the United States that were still in a dealers showroom. Overall, the car is amazing. What makes an amazing is driving dynamics, suspension set up the amazing exterior styling. As far as your initial question regarding how it compares to a GT3, I guess it depends on which specifications and generation of GT3 you are talking about. To me, it is definitely better than the 991.1 GT3. It is not as good as the 991.2 GT3RS what is it is definitely a lot more special as far as the rarity of the car. I own a 991.2 GT3 touring and I believe there’s a two cars of probably on par overall and, the Jaguars definitely a lot more stable at higher speeds because my Porsche does not have a wing.. On track, I can tell you that last fall, we took my jaguar in by GT4 PDK car to ROEBLING Rd., Raceway in Georgia and every single one of us was faster in the Jaguar than the GT4 on Michelin CUP2 tires. finally, I recently became a proud owner of a brand new M5CS. BMW is clearly faster, especially at higher speeds. However, due to its smaller size, more aggressive and more meaty tire sizes in the back and a more track suspension set up, jaguar definitely feels more nimble and more special. Jaguar is definitely the best sedan I’ve ever owned and in my little collection, it falls behind only the magnificent 997.2 GT3RS, the Scuderia, and the STO. I would rate just above the 991.2 GT3 TOURING and my Heritage GT350R.

So… I love E36 M3! I finally bought one a few years ago. The car had 100,000 miles on it, it was in good condition and it already had suspension modifications and a full exhaust on it. I went ahead and had the head ported, Shrick cams shaft installed, swapped the transmission for a 6 speed out of an E 46 M3 and finally, and almost most importantly, had the steering rack swapped out for the one out of a Z3. I finished the project by swapping out the headlights for euro e36 m3 ones and re-doing the interior. My 1999 M3 is just awesome! It is now 275 hp at the crank, it sounds amazing and it handles beautifully. I am in my late 40s and I am most definitely gravitating to almost any cool car produced between 1995 and 2015. I have a few really cool, some of them high dollar cars from that vintage. This one definitely stands out even next to some of my cars that are worth 8-12 times more $$$. As a huge BMW fan, and someone that owns a few of them, I can tell you that the only two BMWs that I have ever owned and driven I better than my E36 M3: my 2007 Z4M Coupe and 2020 M2CS 6MT.

+Pierre Bridet Well, that is correct but only theoretically. People who buy $300k cars, usually take $30k vacations, spend $3k/month going to restaurants, have children in private schools, spend $20k on Christmas gifts etc, etc. mortgage may not be $5mm but it will definitely be at least $1mm, I.e. $7,000+ month. Also, I may be wrong, no bank will loan you $250k+ on a car if you make $135k/year pre-tax. The math just doesn't work. And, unless it's daddy's money, there is no way that you are paying cash for a car that's $300k on a $135k/year income. Also, and people in the know please chime in, an average McLaren buyer has an annual income of $800k+ and net worth of $5mm+. Finally, at least in the US, McLaren doesn't have a good history with re-sale values. The only one that is really holding its value is F1 which is super rare and was the supercar of its time. 675LT will neither have the low number nor is it the hyper car of its time (that would require 1,400bhp+).

So! I just did 3500 miles in one of these in Europe, so I feel that I am entitled to chime in here:
1. The car does look good, but it is very big. In Europe, on European roads, it is especially too wide.
2. One of the biggest problems on this car is the size of the doors. They are enormous, and the hinge is the simplest design. MERCEDES definitely should’ve done something differently in that regard. Either a fancy forward tilting hinge like on the older.CLs or even on the 1990s Lexus SC cars. What really would’ve made a huge difference is the Aston Martin like door hinge design. Otherwise, it seems like MERCEDES was just trying to save as much money as possible.
3. This car is very heavy and absolutely needs Carbon ceramic brakes. If you were planning to do any kind of spirited driving, without the carbon ceramics, it just does not have good enough, and big enough of a braking system in my humble opinion.
4. Base Burmeister system is total crap in this price category. It is significantly weaker than the B&O (non Naim) in the Bentley or BMW’s Bowers and Wilkins.
5. 9 speed MCT trans is really showing its age. To me, it seemed 100% inferior to both the latest versions of the ZF 8 speed let alone to the 8 speed dual clutch in most recent Porsche and Bentley cars.
6. Steering feel is just OK. Rear wheel steering is much needed and very welcomed!
7: base seats are devoid of side bolster adjustments and massage function but wre very comfortable for long distance driving.
8. There’s definitely plenty of storage room for a vehicle in this category..
9. I disagreed with Doug’s assessment of the most MBUX. To me, it is very much inferior to the most recent BMW system.
10. Not having a real button to put the top up and down is absolutely maddening. It is a pain in the butt to operate and I certainly do question long-term reliability of this function.
11. The engine, in my opinion, feels too laggy for a 2023 car. Again, in my humble opinion, it is inferior to both the VAG 4.0 TT and BMW’s 4.4TT engines (I do own cars with both of those engines, so I am speaking from personal experience).
12. The new premium smart headlights on the European car worked exceptionally well. Although, from what I understand, some of the features are not available for the US market, which is very unfortunate.
13. Because of its weight, substandard brakes, touring leaning suspension set up and dim witted transmission, the car’s Performance definitely fell apart once we got to the Alps and the Dolomites.
14. Some of the materials seemed very cheap and low rent on such an expensive vehicle. It seems that Mercedes is playing the same game that the NISSAN was playing once Carl Ghosn took over there 20 years ago. Maybe a lot of other consumers will not notice the many cutting and corner cutting measures that MERCEDES is trying to implement, but I certainly did.
15. Even outside of the fact that there is no real button to lower the convertible top, it seems like the whole operation takes a bit longer than it does in the Audi R8, or even a Porsche 911 cars.
In conclusion, Is this a better in sportier car than the previous gen, i.e 2013 to 2021 cars? Absolutely it is. Is this a car I would buy over the 911 GTS - absolutely not.

+Brian Makse if it is truly sold out, has more to do with the income inequality and that it only has only one (Range Rover Vogue and Autobiography) direct competitor. As a car guy, I would never pay $200K+ for what basically Audi Q7 with a big motor and a really nice interior. The ugliness fact, and yes it is a FACT, has to do that it neither has the finesse and presence of a Bentley Mulsanne nor the brutality of an LM002 or even a G65. And yes, folks in Miami Beach, Boca, OC and similar places will keep buying these for the first 2 years or so just because it is an "IT" car/truck just like were buying SC430, 650i convertibles, flying spur, ghosts, G63 and other "it" cars of the moment. As a marketing guy - I appreciate the effort. As a car guy - I am disgusted. It is what it is.

As somebody who travels to Europe, 2 to 5 times a year and spends a lot of time(2+ months a year) and money in many European countries every year, I mostly disagree with you assessment. And, consequently, I do agree with the article. I’ve been traveling to Europe since 2006 so, I have 17 years worth of observations and opinions. Overall, it is very clear that in the majority of European countries, an average person has become poor, and I don’t think it’s an argument that an average American has done substantially better in this period of time.. They are some exceptions, of course. Switzerland appears to be doing well still Sweden, Norway, and to a lesser extent Denmark, do it a lot better today than they did 15 years ago. Germany appears to maintain status quo. The rest of the countries that I frequently visit, which is about 15 of them, including the pseudo socialist estates of France and Italy have definitely declined since my first visit 17 years ago. I don’t think that any economist in Europe would argue that the United States overall has dealt with Covid substantially better from the economic perspective than most European countries. Real wage growth in the United States i, pardon the pun, REAL. I can attest to that as I employ over 100 people here in Florida. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand that when the unemployment is running at a significantly lower than 5%, real wage growth will become a real issue. I am, yes, the cost of living in the absolute majority of European countries today is significantly lower than it is in the United States. We frequently joke. If we go to Europe, even to places like London, Monaco, St. Tropez and Lake, Como to save money versus, for example, Miami, NYC, Chicago, or Los Angeles. but, the average wage discrepancy today is order of magnitude higher between the US and most European countries versus what it was as recently as 10 years ago. Don’t even get me started on the top 5% average earnings in the US versus Europe today versus say 2013. if you need any proof to that point, the only thing you have to do is look at the production distribution patterns for Lamborghini and Ferrari today versus what it was even as recently as 2017. A much higher percentage of their product now goes to the US versus the European market. As they say, money talks. The last thing I’m going to say, that the conversation about Europeans, being lazy, is complicated as the Europeans, on average, look at the earnings versus quality of life equation differently than the majority of the Americans. It is a fact of life, just like a it is a fact that any, hard-working American in almost any industry today, is going to make 20, 30, 40% more than an average European counterpart. For some industries and some occupations, that number is going to be 200% and 300%. And yes, my opinion is clearly from a guy that pays almost a $1.0MM/yr in federal income tax here in the US. The American economic system is not perfect. The American economic system definitely favors the top 20% end even more so the top 2%. However, over the last five years, on average, American has done substantially better than an average European. Finally, like I always say, if you are anywhere close to being well to do, you want to live in the United States, if you are poor, you are much better off in Europe.

Honestly, I have no idea what talking about. I’ve owned a 2009 and sold it with about 60,000 miles on the clock. The only thing that went bad on it was the rear power hatch motor. My 2007 on the other hand, which is now, 17 years old, is completely perfect for its age. However, in this spirit of full disclosure, the fact that it only has 10,000 miles on it probably has something to do with it lol
PS. The 2005 E55 wagon I had did need a lot of maintenance, albeit it had 145,000 miles on it when I sold it.

@RMcG109 OMG! You are my hero! I owe you big-time sir! Back, about 15 years ago, there was an article in autoweek about your E63 M6 European delivery experience. I believe you actually wrote that article. I read and reread that article many times. I was fascinated by it. It made me dream of doing something like this one day too. Because of you, I did M School at the Ring in 2015, brought my own 900hp GTR there in 2018 and finally and fortunately did European delivery of my 2020 M2 Comp in Sep 2019, I.e 5 months before the program was shut down by BMW. Back in 2006, I did not nearly make the money necessary to do any of this. But your article helped to realize what was possible! I am hoping to make it back to the Ring either this year or 2023 at the latest. Hoping to do a Porsche European delivery. Anyway, you sir, were a big time influencer before there were influencers. I thank you very much! I am in Jacksonville, FL and would love to buy you a beer or steak dinner (I go to Pistenklause every time I am in Nürburg because of your reference in that article too) if you are ever here for Amelia Island or any other event. My email address is tursonoff@gmail.com
PS. Because of your GT3 article, I ended up buying a 997.2 GT3RS. Love that car!

So, as someone that knows a little bit about cars and definitely current state of economy and the way economics work, I highly recommend that you delete this video. There is a magnitude of errors that you have made in this video that anybody with a keen sense of understanding of how things work in this country would find laughable. You are a bit of a shock jock, for sure. This is evident from almost every video that you post. But this one, quite frankly, makes you look inept, the examples that you were giving are very inaccurate and very far from being with the truth. Are the prices down across-the-board? Yes . Are the defaults on the rise? Yes. Did prices (inflation) go up quite a bit in 2021, 2022 in the beginning of 2023? Yes, also correct. However, when nowhere close to what happened in 2007 and 2008. I do not know what exactly you are trying to accomplish, other than being a shock jock but as a finance professional and a guy with a 50 car collection, my opinion of you just went down and equivalent of 100 fico score points lol. A bit embarrassing to be honest.

You are an alarmist. The absolute majority of these cities were the ones that got hit by the hurricanes after Covid. The Sarasota to Fort Myers corridor should be down 30% across the board. It is not. It may get there, but it’s not yet. I went there after the hurricane devastation, and it is absolutely obvious that a lot of those properties should not be where they’re at. The same, unfortunately pertains to the Saint Pete, Tampa, Clearwater areas that got hit so hard by the hurricanes in 2024. In my humble opinion, some of those neighborhoods should be down as much as 40%. I know this sounds pretty dire, but then, again, a lot of those older homes in low lying areas just need to be demolished and it’s probably gonna take that market about 15 years to recover. As far as the wonderful redneck, Riviera known as Ocala and the Orlando suburb of the Winter Haven, I am scratching my head on nose to be honest. What I don’t understand, is why did they go up so high to begin with. Neither one is very desirable, no offense.I guess, what goes up must come down. We are in a recession boys and girls. it is probably gonna last all the way till the end of 2026.

Love you channel and your reviews! Just wanted to add to this one if I could:
I am extremely spoiled and very blessed. I presently own and have owned in the past a LOT of greatest hits. That said, my 2022 ALPINA XB7 is, undoubtedly, one of the best cars I have ever owned. I have almost 30K miles on mine, which by my standards, a whole lot (the only other car with that kind of mileage that I have is a 2005 E46 M3). Yes, the 23 inch tires are almost $1,000 a piece (interestingly this is the exact same tire as the one on my wife’s URUS and Lamborghini wants $1,200 for their version of this tire. Yes, seat ventilation is not as good as on my CT5 V BW or Raptor R, but in my opinion experience none of the Europeans match domestics in the posterior cooling department. I disagree with your assessment of the massaging function: I think it is on part with Lamborghini and Cadillac and better than MB. Speaking of MB, and I understand that is controversial, I do sincerely believe that my XB7 is superior to the Final Edition E63 Wagon I just got. I think the materials are better, execution is better, I like the Alpina tune of the 4.4L TT V8 better than the 4.0L TT V8 in the E63. I also that that the ZF in the Alpina is better than the 9 speed MCT in my new AMG.
Yes, the market looks different today than back in 2021 when the XB7 came out. But, after looking a the GLS63 and Escalade V, I will most likely be getting another XB7 even though I DO NOT AT ALL like the the headlights, removal of the AC control butting and mild hybridization. It is just too good!

And sooooo.. in the spirit of full disclosure I own almost 50% of the cars on your list. That being said, I think you did put a comprehensive list that is probably almost spot on with a couple of exceptions:
1. Personally, and I believe the market will agree with me 20, 30, 40 years down the road, will take SP1/2 over SP3 any day. I’m willing to predict that by year 2050, apples to apples SP1/2 will bring 2X money:
2. Supra - yes, but only if GRMN actually comes out with an S58 and 6MT.
3. GR Corolla - Morizo Edition only. Like you said, it has to be weird. Morizo has no rear seats and semi-roll bar.
4. LC - NOT if it is replaced with a V8TT LFR for less than $450K
5, 170 - yes, but the ones that will really bring the money will be the 6MT HELLCATS.
6. M2 - yes, but only if the 2026 M2CS is offered with a 6MT. Otherwise, F87 M2CS will continue to occupy the top spot among the late model smaller BMWs.

Wow, Ed… I have a lot of respect and appreciation for you but you certainly showed a little weakness in your knowledge of Porsche 911s here. The most special 911 of that era is 997.2 4.0. The reason why it is and should be ranked an ahead of 911R, is the fact that that particular motor was used only in those 600 cars. Every car is numbered and you don’t have to make any excuses for this car. 911R, will always and forever be tainted by the fact that Porsche came out with the GT3 touring just two years after the 911 production run was done, which basically had an almost identical engine. Yes, I know, the clutch and flywheel were different. But, overall I believe that the 911R were way too close to the standard, if you can call it that, 2018 and 2019 GT3 touring cars. In fact, I would even rank the 997.2 GR2 RS ahead of the 911R. the reason for that is, it certainly looks like that car is going to end up being the last manual transmission 2RS, which is important and that car was produced and even lower numbers at 500 worldwide.

So, as a video about sales tactics, this is OK. As a video about car business, this is as pathetic as it gets real car guys, that really value these automobiles and buy them for fun I’m not going to spend any time talking to a salesman about features and options. I am one of them, and I know more about features and options on these cars 99% of time. Porsche, for once, will not sell you the really covered it and sought after cars until you have some sort of a status buildup. The best for sure you can possibly buy would be a highly customized CXX GT car in PTS color. Those are the ones that are going to not only hold their value, but as long as you buy the right spec and the right model will continue appreciating. Just look at the results of the white collection sale back in December 2023
.With McLaren, in order to make it special, you do have to spend the money. My 750 S for example has a sticker of $652,000. And I was very happy to buy that car for that kind of price because there’s only two of them in my spec in the United States. Bentley for the most part is a bit of a waste due to depreciation and only makes sense if you’re buying or leasing the car for a business.
