  1. During Soviet times, Ukraine received preferential treatment due to its climate and fertile flat ground. Many industrial investments were put in Ukraine instead of other places. When the Soviet dissolved, Ukraine got the crown jewels of the Soviet's industries and smart minds. Ukraine should be doing a lot better than the rest of the former Soviet.

  2. Turkey is in deep shxt re the debt and economy. The only card they have is the NATO vote. They are going to milk it to its fullest. Won't you? Unless EU and US can come up with lotsa moola, I don't see how this can be resolved quickly or easily.
