  4. We seem to be the only country were mass shootings to be occurring on a regular basis now. We're also the only country where GUNS outnumber people and they can be acquired fairly easily due to the 2nd Amendment, even without legal paperwork. Many on the political right believe all gun control laws are a violation of the 2nd Amendment (...Shall not be infringed). They make the argument that "Criminal don't follow laws or care about laws, so why should we be restricted by laws when purchasing guns? we should be allowed to protect ourselves and no be restricted by gun control laws". On one hand, it's a logical argument. on the other hand, gun laws are meant to restrict people from purchasing guns who might do harm to themselves and others. (such as mentally ill or suicidal). obviously, it's not a perfect law and we've seen that it doesn't work as intended.

Training on a firing range occasionally doesn't give you experience to shoot at a target that SHOOTS BACK and is trying to actively KILL YOU.

  49.  @vladtheimpalerofficial  first of all, most people don’t carry guns, and second, even if they did, their first reaction wouldn’t be to instinctively pull it out and shoot back. Their first reaction is to RUN from a dangerous situation. So you’re entire premise is wrong. Very few people (civilians) have training to react in this situation.
