Thinking kids are going to "Turn gay" by teaching them about LGBT issues in the classroom, is like thinking they're going to become honest and moral people simply by reading them the bible. You don't develop good morals and values simply by reading a book, just like you can't change your sexuality by being taught it in in a classroom.

@kanekadn5533 i was raised by straight parents and two straight siblings (as far as I know), then I joined the military out of high school. Being gay was a bad joke in my town and I don’t know transgender people existed. Fastforward 20 years, I’m 44 and I’ve been living as an openly trans woman now for almost ten years.

I want LGBT kids to have what I didn’t have growing up, the chance to BE THEMSELVES without fear of being judged their peers, or even violence because they are LGBT. They should be allowed to date and play sports, and participate in activities and not worry about ignorant close minded adults or their “friends” telling them they can’t because they’re gay or trans.

@vladteyvan7564 you do realize that there hundreds of mental illnesses recognized by DSM V and NONE OF THEM has a cure to date. So calling anyone under the Umbrella of LGBTQ+ mentally ill means they cannot be cured of their disability and they should be allowed to received government compensation.
