  1. For those asking about gender surgery, it's still considered elective surgery (non emergent care), just like breast enlargement or other cosmetic surgeries, so it's not covered by the military. Transgender service members cannot get surgery while on active duty. Unless there are major legislative changes, Trans people would still have to wait until they are out of the military to get their surgery.

  12. If the Police can't handle the "active shooter" situation professionally and allow 19 kids to be murdered, why do 2nd amendment activists think that Teachers with guns could do any better? Police train for YEARS to handle this situations, some are even veterans with combat experience who served overseas. They think that a teacher with a gun and a few hours on a gun range a week (or no training at all) is going to react instinctively and be able to save lives? Teachers should not be the first line of defense for students in a situation like this. It's not their job to be combat trained soldiers and teachers.

Biden has only been President for a few months, mass shootings have been happening for over a decade. There’s more to it than simple “lack of discipline”.

  37. We seem to be the only country were things like this seem to be occurring on a regular basis now. We're also the only country where GUNS outnumber people and they can be acquired fairly easily due to the 2nd Amendment, even without legal paperwork. Many on the political right believe all gun control laws are a violation of the 2nd Amendment (...Shall not be infringed). They make the argument that "Criminal don't follow laws or care about laws, so why should we be restricted by laws when purchasing guns? we should be allowed to protect ourselves and no be restricted by gun control laws". On one hand, it's a logical argument. on the other hand, gun laws are meant to restrict people from purchasing guns who might do harm to themselves and others. (such as mentally ill or suicidal). obviously, it's not a perfect law and we've seen that it doesn't work as intended.
