Every Democrat voted to fire McCarthy. 8 Republicans voted to fire McCarthy. Give credit and blame where it is due. The Democrats are why the House of Representatives isn't working right now.

  6. Yes. The other factor is that supply chains were broken by COVID and it took time to get them moving again. The US government juiced demand by pumping money into the economy while the supply chain was broken and couldn't respond. Increasing demand when supply couldn't keep up led to inflation. Duh.

  8. Peter's analysis relies too much on extrapolating the present into the future. The Germans, like people everywhere, will adapt to changing circumstances. Remember when Russia shut off natural gas to Germany? People were saying that Germans would freeze the next winter, but that didn't happen. Within 6 months the Germans had built LNG terminals and natural gas pipelines that normally would have taken years to build.. They suspended environmental regulations and worked around the clock. That is what highly educated and skilled workforces do. It's hard to predict how people will adapt to changing economic circumstances, but you can be sure that Germany will adapt.

  10. Carter cancelled the B1. Giving him credit for the B2 is nonsense. Integrating high tech with weapons systems was inevitable. That's like giving Bill Clinton credit for the internet because it became popular during his presidency. Oh, I forgot that Al Gore invented the internet.
