I'm not worried about automation at all; like any technological advancement it's just another tool, it's all how we choose to use it. Robots will never be able to replace creative-thinking people they will only be able to do simple tasks. No way they can replace playwrights or other creatives or teachers or doctors or even landscapers. They can assist in those tasks but they can never fully replace them. "Assisting" is nowhere near the same as replacement. So long as everyone is provided the essentials in the future one way or another I'm not worried about the changing face of work. Anyone who is needs to get a reality check imo. There will always be a purpose to life if we choose to make one. The choice is up to us. Nobody can force us to live a meaningless existence unless we choose to, either individually or as a society. The only way forward is to move closer to a Star Trek ideal. I think it's pretty idealized and I don't think we're going to get to that point anytime soon but we can certainly move closer in that direction. I mean we live in a post-scarcity world now actually if you watch the stats. We just have so much political evil and corruption and psychgpathy (supporting and enabling unrestrained profiteering and big business) that 2/3 or more of the world lives in poverty. That's the problem, not robots. The evil we may have to contend with is going to come from humans not the robots. An inanimate tool CANNOT pose any threat to us. It cannot think independently. Anything else is just childish nonsense and sci-fi movie plots. If we want to have a more ideal world where everyone gets to pursue their passion and we don't have to work as much to survive and have a much higher overall quality of life where everyone gets to share in the surplus- then we need to start demanding that now. We could do it now with current technology. We don't need anything else beyond what we have now. Any further technology from this point forward would literally just be a bonus. Do we structure of the world for psychopathic elites or do we structure the world so that's it's an eco-paradise with a good life for everyone? We don't need replicators to get there we just need a moral revolution in our values. The good people just need to win that's all. But we haven't been able to yet... so the struggle continues.

Not only that, Thorium and CANDU plants can recycle spent waste as fuel. Thorium is energy's Chad Thundercock. Rad sh*t.

Pretty sure the navy uses SMRs in it's carriers and subs

Canada has some great proposals for final storage. And thorium decays to harmlessness after 300 years. A big difference. CANDU reactors and thorium plants can reuse spent waste as initial fuel. Provided the waste is stored properly the risk to anyone is minimal. Fusion will be here by 2100. This isn't a major problem for those who have the facts.

Its the time bucks guy

Good question..... I'd like to know....

Great video. However it goes without saying we need to get off fossisl fuels with extreme prejudice, and then try to ameliorate the effects of climate change which will be with us for a long time with these technologies, all which no doubt have a useful function in their particular role.

By 2100 I predict fusion

Also why DC is trying to force all of Europe to by our shitty LNG for 4x the price of other local or closer energy sources. Also producing LNG is ecologically horrible
