Funny, if all states and counties taxed big business and the top 10% of incomes appropriately, and the top tax rate was 96% like it was under FDR, there would be plenty to go around for all public needs and wants.
The MIC is a 1T a year, Big Ag is 2T a year, Big Pharma is approx 3-5T a year.
There's MORE than enough for all of us to live like kings, it's just being 99% concentrated in the top 2% of hands.
Yeah I think that's filth. I believe EVERYONE under 60K deserves a basic UBI and public goods should come first. What are my public goods??? Where do I start?? Anything that makes life worth living. Healthcare, education, transportation, rent fairness, homeowner protections, public utilities, corporate control etc etc etccccc
ALTERNATIVELY; could not the federal government simply pay for everything on allotment? Or am I missing something? As in every county sends the state a bill for what it would like to publicly spend the following year and these states then send the government the bill totaled from all it's counties? So basically the fedgov can allocate [X] amount of monies either directly to each county or to the government of each state each year to be then distributed down through the counties? We do this already to a degree, correct? But wouldn't this be able to be scaled up to be used basically in lieu of taxation? Or am I missing something???
