  1. Yep both rents and home prices are spiraling out of control because the worst elements of society have totally captured the government now. Where I live in San Diego county, median price for a home is at least 500K and that's for something pretty piss poor or a condo. A nice home by US standards would be at least probably to 6-800K here. I'd be curious to know what my parents house appraises that currently, I remember the 90s when it appraised at 250K and we thought that was a princely sum.

  2. You'll be okay eventually but we're in dark times now indeed. You may want to consider getting a junior home or a tiny home or a park model or a manufactured home. Or just moving to a lesser expensive area. There are still some areas where homebuying costs haven't gotten completely out of control yet. So that's one small slice of good news in this whole shower of bad news.

  4.  @lesliestenta3084  what about your nursing union? Do they have any power and do they adequately represent you? Adequate staffing should be non-negotiable and it should be illegal to intentionally understand a facility especially a care facility. Sadly we don't have anti-understaffing laws yet but we need to get them. In the meantime what is your nursing union doing and if they're not doing enough why not?

I've been treated in such deplorable ways by both of my parents who are still alive but getting really up there now, you wouldn't believe it if I told you what I've had to deal with with them and I can promise you I didn't deserve a bit of it. Sounds like you've had similar experiences. Boomer brain is insane. Regretfully I have to agree. It needs to be classified as a legitimate mental illness, I'm not even joking. In it's more extreme cases it's really poisonous I'm not kidding. It's really unfortunate. We have no relationship now because of their attitudes which really got out of control starting in 2006 after I was already an adult. There had been some signs earlier but that's when they really took a step for the worse and unfortunately it's never really got any better since. Every time I thought that things were turning around, that they were getting some awareness and evolving, or that we had a breakthrough in real progress could finally begin, unfortunately within a year or two if not right away they just would choose more irrational behavior and act as if nothing even happened and I was the enemy again. I think it's really sad what's happened to them. I wonder if a lot has to do with their mercury fillings Mercury is the most serious neurotoxin along with Lead. They've gone completely down the right-wing rabbit hole with their politics and people from their background shouldn't have been vulnerable to that kind of brain rot. They're both highly educated, they came out of the working class but made it into the middle class and are now barely hanging on for a couple of reasons. I don't know, it's a real shame. I don't know what's gotten in to them. I have one really out there theory, but if it's not that then all I can think is it's got to be the Mercury. Their attitudes and behaviors on and off over these past 15 years have in no way been justified or rational. They would look like they would make progress only to undo that so-called progress within 5 minutes. They would pretend to gain insights and empathy and feel regret over there past behaviors and want to start treating me with some baseline respect and affection only to have that suddenly all go out the window with no warning and with no real rational catalyst. So whatever your specific details are I'm sure I can fully understand because there is something very wrong with the Boomer brain. I wish I could be only joking but I'm completely serious and I think it's partly social conditioning when they were young that they never ever were able to overcome, and part of it is environmental toxicity and exposure such as mercury fillings and lead paint- two absolutely deadly neurotoxins that are cumulative and only get worse over time.

  7. the solution is to do whatever is necessary to form a third viable strongly organized left and left Unity parting start running our own people. Otherwise the 2%-serving duopolists are going to keep running a train on our sweet bits and we'll have only ourselves to blame. We can act or not act. The choices are. At least if we don't get there in our lifetime we know we've given it all we could and that's all we can ask of ourselves.
