I'm kinda shocked anyone on MSNBC took even a slightly hostile or confrontational tone towards any establishment democrat. I mean really- this is my shocked face I have on right now.

Okay so THIS time you guys are going to get it right? Right, Doug Jones? So how do you all explain the last 50 years and the other at least three times you guys have had control of one or both houses and the White House?

@johnkesich8696 indeed. The Green party is good but I'd like to see a bigger left party rise called the Left Unity Party that literally unites all parties on the left from the DSA to the Revcoms. I wonder if it's possible.

They've had 50 years of chances. I know we don't have a major party to go to now but from now on at least on a federal level I'm not voting for these clowns anymore. I'll work to build up a viable left third party because corporate Dems are not going to do virtually anything either for my pocketbook or for the planet or for justice.

Exactly. The Dems have become Republican-lite at least since Reagan. I'm done at this point. If they really wanted to do better they could have. I'm not expecting perfection, but they could have done a lot more and a lot better, which they claim they want to, but of course their actions always seem to countervene. We know there is a minority of Progressives that do want to do better. We can debate whether or not they should be trying harder etc etc, but I think it's pretty clear they would like to be much more aggressive and stronger in policy making. Unfortunately a tiny handful is not enough to get the job done. I am certain if Biden and or Democrat party leadership wanted to get Manchin and Sinema in line they could easily do so. Clearly all this has been rehearsed and planned behind the scenes. And if it's true Dems really are this week then they're not worth supporting anyways, because how can you bet on a crippled horse? So they're either weak and incapable which means they're useless to us even if they mean well, OR they're intentionally playing footsie with us and playing games for the camera, while willingly making sellout deals with traitors like Machin as well as their "opponent" colleagues behind the scenes.

@kylea1436 yep and look how well that's played out. I highly doubt he was quiet about his full views even back then. It wasn't as if he was some right-leaning centrist. Unless he was a completely different character back then, it's obvious he's a raging nutcase fundamentalist. But none of the senior Dems at the time clearly felt this was an issue of concern. they couldn't wait to approve him and just fall all over him, Even to the extent of trivializing and being openly antagonistic towards Anita Hill and her testimony. The asshole wasn't even a barely liberal democrat. But that didn't stop them from being only too happy to confirm the fat bastard. I mean come on, these people are absolute traitors. I don't know what their ultimate agenda is, but clearly it's main goal is to suck up to a bunch of Republican wackjobs and be accepted by the cool kids, who I guess they see as the GOP pseudo-fundamentalists? Maybe Congress had less openly fascist nutcases or less extremists on the Republican side back in the early 90s, but nonetheless. Dems have always sought their favor and done damn near everything they wanted. Sad.
