@TheTubejunky ok fren just relax

Apple has many messy practices that I would like to see regulated away
1
@1112viggo right. I guess I can't blame them for wanting to make higher profits but there should be a limit. It's time to swing the pendulum back in favor of the consumer.

@BarderBetterFasterStronger what isn't?

You guys don't have apartment rentals commonly in Norway?
1
@erik5820 wow that's very impressive. I think home ownership is 60% max here in the US.
1
@etherealrose2139 @etherealrose2139 well you guys are having to export to Europe thanks to DC shooting up the Nordstream 2 (unless Norway has exported for a lot longer than the past several years, in which case perhaps exporting rates have increased since 2021), which was providing cheap fuel from Russia to most of the EU. They did this to force the EU into a corner of a fuel shortage from which they hoped they would then solve by buying US LNG. So I don't know where the EU gets its primary source of fuel at the moment, but yeah that happened and that's why they did that. So if there are any energy stresses in the EU right now I would encourage people to look back a couple of years at the Nordstream 2. I don't know what percentage of their entire energy needs were coming in from Russia but if it was significant well, there it is. I don't know if there's work going on currently by the Russian state to repair that pipeline and renew the trade, but yeah.

@jimstiles26287 wonder, lol, other than the fact it's 10,000 times less efficient than nuclear and destroys the environment and doesn't even bring wealth to the state as it all sucked up by corporate executives. It's time to get past coal. Oh and by the way it destroys the health and bodies of those that mine it. It's quite sad we're still using it actually. Unfortunately I'm here to tell you that the entire region of Appalachia has been played by coal, namely the owners of the big coal conglomerates in concert with the Republican party and the few Dems in your state leadership.

@erik5820 thank you for the information but I live here in the US. I know they did it. I mean it's not like the brass came to my house and confessed to me with three witnesses all I can tell you is, based on information I feel is legitimate, I believe they did it. I guess you haven't been following the situation, that's okay. There is always going to be plenty of misinformation and disinformation through mainstream sources. This goes beyond just one pipeline. But I appreciate the rest of the information.

@jimstiles26287 coal may well be cheaper but that doesn't invalidate anything I said. Why do we want to use an incredibly polluting fuel source that is 10,000 times less efficient than nuclear especially next generation nuclear?
1
@jimstiles26287 what does pre-2000 have to do with anything? And 400 years ago there was no industrial pollution at all on Earth what's that got to do with the price of tea in China today? Ok? And that still doesn't invalidate the fact that BOTH parties serve the corporate dollar, not you. Look at the bigger picture, you'll be played a lot less by these people.

@erik5820 so that's interesting, in your opinion Russia themselves were trying to artificially inflate prices of NG to EU countries? Huh. Well maybe there's more to that story idk. If so I generally condemn that kind of behavior, but maybe there's more going on there that is commonly known. Yes the war is unfortunate and didn't need to happen but I also believe I understand what led up to it; regardless of where you assign blame I do think that the EU cutting off trade with Russia for any reason at this point- unless they weren't getting very much from them in the first place- isn't a very smart move.

@erik5820 well I suppose should have said "I believe that is what happened". I believe I have good reason to think so, is in fact what I meant. I don't know how to convince you. You don't have to agree with me, that's perfectly fine. I guess to somebody looking at it from a different perspective I sound like a tin foil conspiracy theorist, but to me I mean, it's just seems very clear. Just another wild action taken with clear calculation as part of a very long anti-soviet agenda stretching back many decades, this latest chapter just being its latest incarnation. I'm on the left and I could have my fax all wrong, but I don't think so. One source I trust is breakthrough news & Liberation News. You're welcome to look them up yourself if you feel so inclined.

@erik5820 I appreciate your comment but I see youtúb3 will not allow me to respond. That's too bad. I'll keep trying.
1
@erik5820 hmm. Well I'd love to explain further but now I'm not being allowed to post.

@sie4431 would you say radiators are a very efficient and effective form of room heating? I've never actually seen one in real life.

@Objectified buddy knock it off I stand by everything I said. You don't have to agree with me but I feel I have good cause to believe it. No I won't stop stating what I believe is true.
1
@Objectified yes there are always a variety of factors that are going to affect overall national homeownership rates you are certainly correct on that. But if you think the cost of rent isn't an assrape right now in an increasing number of locations, and the cost of average, below average, or higher than average homes almost everywhere is out of control, then you haven't been paying much attention.
1
@Objectified because I'm not exactly the world's leading expert in anything about Norway, other than it seems like a starkly beautiful region? 😂 No offense to my melanin-challenged friends up there but I don't know much about that single country? But I also never claimed I did?
1
@sie4431 oic.... I've seen them in media... I may have been around one before, not sure. Since they were all metal I figured they must be an excellent heat transmitter. I guess one would just have to use it with the time factor in mind, and sit closer to it if necessary to maximize heat.

@michaeld5888 finding cheap reliable affordable mass-produced all-purpose energy still seems to be a challenge for the human race (that ideally doesn't pollute too much). I support nuclear as the fastest route off fossil fuel reliance.

Is social justice bad???

You are 100% wrong and get off the Fox News

@AxMi-24 I don't need a PhD to understand why these are fantastic modes of green energy that will only get better in time Is Chevron paying you?
1
@AxMi-24 okay world genius explain to me what your objections to solar and wind are. Obviously they're not going to work 24/7 I mean that's pretty obvious, is it the storage, is it the transmission, what is it that you object to?
1
@AxMi-24 I see. Well I'm just not sure about that but those factors to consider I'm sure. Most energy dense return for input on the planet? Surprisingly, nuclear, especially thorium.
1
@AxMi-24 I don't even know if it's profitable but yes there's a lot of greenwashing going on and there's a lot of misguided denuclearizing right now unfortunately. Hopefully this will start to change soon. I support all green energy technologies, but as I have a good lay education about nuclear it is clear to me now that it is the superior non-carbon technology by far, at least for now.
1
That sounds very impressive. I hope you go to school for that if you aren't already.
1
I believe some is related to increased chemical and vaccine exposure. Of course I can't prove this, it's just my opinion so far. Either way, it's wonderful that all neurodivergent conditions are now getting the support and respect they deserve.
1
No need to be insulting. There are genuine autistic conditions out there.

What's really important is finding out which female character from Sex in the City you really are. Take quiz on page 17 to find out.

I often wonder if the standard instructional model just isn't the right way for all children. A different model that's more sensory involved such as the Montessori system I bet would be better for some of these youth who find it difficult to become excited for or maintain interest in a traditional public school curriculum.
1
@PGHEngineer that may be a fair point but then what is the alternative? All we can really do is try to provide different types of learning environments. I can't speak for the UK but in the US there are a fair amount of alternative schools both HS and elementary. Many young people who struggle for one reason or another in the local public school can access one of those, however I'm sure there's always a need for more alternative options.

Right now our world is controlled by large corporations. I don't know what it's going to take to stop this but until we figure out a way, our planet will continue to be environmentally degraded at a record rate and global poverty will continue to shoot up. I'm sorry, if you want a peaceful sustainable future you have to be a communist or at least a humanist. I'm not saying can't have any business, I'm just saying that businesses should be severely limited by government, period. We can have a private market but it should be heavily controlled so that we don't get what we have right now which is runaway ecosystem destruction, bullshit greenwashing and harm to workers and our communities. Wake up, learn leftism, be communist or least to be Socialist.

I'm trying to say something positive and worthwhile and I can't post it because yt punts it every time. This is disgusting.
