Anyhow like I said, if you have the time, your local county and state needs your efforts to organize and push for positive change there. Regardless of what bullshit is happening in DC, we owe it to ourselves to organize and activate locally and statewide.

Disappointing but unsurprising. Voters are uninformed, and not enough people choose to vote. It's really too bad, but we can't give up. Time to get back up and try again. We only lose if we stop trying.

@luchi.el.zorrito it's just black history, the history of Jim Crow and the last 400 years of oppression and unfair legal systems that black people have had to deal with. I don't even know why it's called a theory. It's not subjective at all. It's just what happened, everything fully documented and easily verifiable. Anyhow it's NOT taught in K-12, although more Black American history should be at the high school level. Why would this bother you?

Marx makes economic critiques of a heavy capitalistic system which causes harm to the working class. I'm Marxist, because I have the weird belief greed is BAD and everyone deserves dignity and equal opportunity in life; that we all don't exist just to serve the whims of the elite. I'm still not aware what Marx has to do with CRT. I've never read a CRT text so I'm not aware when or if they discuss Marxist thought. But if so, thats a great bonus in my book. Heavy capitalism is absolute cancer and greed is the mother of all sins, basically. The sooner people figure this out the sooner we can start building a better world. Regardless of what is or isn't mentioned in CRT, factual Black History should be taught in high schools alongside a broader US history curriculum, at an age- and class-appropriate level; and it shouldn't be whitewashed. It should also be explained how the subjugation continues today through the pure evils of policing and mass incarceration which we can see all around us. So you can think about that for a minute.

@cooldrop02 I lived in Hampton roads when I was in the Navy 18 years ago. I liked it a lot but I never got to see much of the rest of the state, and I wanted to. It was soo naturally beautiful though. I was amazed at the natural lushness of the region as I would travel thru seemingly unending greenery and growth. I love a small country town or a rural area, but it's a damn shame the GOP has them so snowed and captured.

Maybe not. Nobody likes losing but we just have to keep trying right? Corporate Dems are next to worthless but that's why actual Socialists and Progessives have to keep pushing forward everywhere, no matter what. We just need far more direct democracy and far more voting access. The GOP isn't stupid when they cheat and voter-suppress like it's going out of style.

It's always hard to go up against the big money. It's always an uneven playing field. If she runs again for the seat, and I hope she does, in just another 2-4 years, she may well win. One loss should not deter her from moving forward and while it certainly sucks, we need to be the same way. The good-for-little shitdems aren't going to remove themselves, so it's up to us to keep fighting this battle for as long as it takes.

Shame on Byron Brown. He cares more about getting rich and being special then helping his own people. Not the first kinfolk-hating Uncle Thom out there. Not all skinfolk are kinfolk, as they say. The MOVE bombing victims sure found that out, as have plenty of other struggling Black communities with associated local or state ambitious Black politicians.

I say forget the federal govt for right now, that's such a cluster it's almost pointless to give a shit at this point- although it is better for at least one reason to vote for worthless Dems and that to have less crazy right-wingers being appointed to federal judge spots. But besides that yeah Capitol Hill is entirely owned by Wall Street and it's just such a pathethic sideshow at this point. So let's refocus on the states for now. In a low of ways, state and local races are more important than federal. Change within a State can't happen without engagement.
