@Kecc16 oh really????? Yes choking is wrong, but if you're telling the truth, that's wrong too. This video should have included that part. That makes a big difference. You should post this up top.

@kjb6637 what happened to the kid who was doing the bullying? We're they disciplined? Thank you for being a brave person and stepping in. You should not have been disciplined. It's completely wrong to tell anyone they don't have a right to defend themselves or come to another's aid. And then people wonder why something bad happens to someone and everyone's just standing around taking a video but not helping. This isn't the first time I've heard of a student being punished or disciplined for trying to help a student who was being attacked by a different student. Students who try to be the good guys and step in when they see bad kids picking on others should never be punished. That's just wrong.

@Krektonix I mean any student who's willing to stand up for themselves against the bully should feel proud of him or herself. But if that doesn't fix the problem than the school should step in. Ultimately if a bully refuses to stop their behavior they should be expelled from the school. I'm willing to try to give them chances before that point, but if they keep blowing every single one, after multiple chances to change their behavior, then at that point they leave the school no choice and the school would be justified in removing them from the school permanently. There's no justification for initiating bullying. It is never okay to intentionally bully another person, esp with threats of violence. Challenging someone to a fight is one thing, that happens a lot in schools, but if the person chooses not to accept, then the other person needs to let it go. Continuing any bullying past this point is not acceptable.

@MatthewBleich I don't know if this is true, but I did hear someone say the male student was saying the n-word and racial slurs. That doesn't justify an assault by choking but it gives some more context to the situation. If IE knew that happened, they were irresponsible to air this video without that piece of information. But it's possible they didn't know. I've no connection to the incident so I don't know for certain either way.

I don't know if this is true or not but I just heard someone else comment that the boy was making racist comments prior to this and other students were telling him to stop and he wouldn't. That doesn't justify the other girl choking him- she was wrong for that and should be disciplined, but that does give a little context of the situation if it's true. The person who claimed it says they went to the school and heard about it from others who witnessed it. So I don't know 🤷 If that's true, then I could understand how that girl could get so upset. She still needs to control her behavior better, choking is not a behavior that can be tolerated, but I can understand how people would get upset if the smaller boy was making racial slurs.

Short term solitary would send a message.

@xI2eLoaDeDx not true at all!! Many teens and young adults have children either by choice or because they got pregnant and didn't believe in abortion. It's nothing to judge anyone on.

@jdos5643 I won't disagree a world based on only love and kindness would be wonderful. I guess we have to wait to get to heaven for that. Or whatever comes next.
