  1. Ok at first I had to do a double take but I think I get it now. So first she was implanted with the surrogate embryo from the other parents, but since she was still ovulating (because she hadn't gotten pregnant naturally so her hormonal cycles hadn't yet changed), then she and her husband conceived after having sex. I wonder if they're going to come out with some guidelines in the future for those planning to be surrogates, to either refrain from sex with their partners or to use birth control in the early stages of the pregnancy with the surrogate embryo- just so there's no confusion later on.
