Yes. Exactly.

Correct. This is the only correct viewpoint in this tragic situation.

@UndeadZombie22 no not at all. It's tragic what happened but ultimately she's not responsible. she's only 10 and she's already damaged from earlier abuse. She needs intervention and rehabilitation not punishment. Punishment won't do anything for her she won't get better and it robs her other chance to become a better person if she's not rehabilitating. it may feel good but in the long term it's not going to help anyone. It's not going to bring the baby back it's not going to turn her into a functional person who can control her impulses, and it could likely make her worse. no in this situation the right thing to do is to give her intense rehabilitation and counseling so she can learn how to process her emotions without lashing out the next time. Also her parents never should have left her alone with that baby. So the ultimate responsibility has to land on the parents.

@Vincent-yx7tg you're an adult you clown. You're not a psychological seven-year-old.

The crime is horrific but so is what you just said. She's emotionally disturbed. She's not evil. No person under age 18 should ever be tried as an adult or sentenced to life with no parole. With enough intervention and counseling she can probably be fine. and stop letting the parents off the hook. No 10 year old child even if she was its sibling, should be left alone without another adult in the house with a baby ever. You completely letting the parents off the hook in this sad situation and that's wrong. My heart breaks for the father but he and the baby's mother should NEVER have left their child in the care of another very young child who they knew had a history of emotional problems. That was completely irresponsible on their part, and tragically the worst happened because of it.

What happened was ugly and tragic, but a 10-year-old, healthy or disturbed, should NEVER be left as a babysitter or the sole care provider for an infant. That is the job for a responsible young adult babysitter or the parents. This situation could have been easily prevented if all the adults involved had been responsible.

And I bet you weren't severely abused and emotionally disturbed either. this little girl did not have a healthy brain. I'm not excusing what she did but she's the product of a very ugly past. I'm willing to bet you weren't. Makes all the difference in the world.
