If the FTC really wanted to be a hard regulator they would have their work cut out for them for the next 100 years, bec big biz has the nothing but get away with one thing or another over the past 60 years as it has bribed or convinced govt groups to look the other way or back off.
Honestly the most glaring lack of oversight is in the Care industries. Nursing home facilities and behavioral care centers, esp that focus on minors. For anyone who's followed this issue at all, as I do occasionally, the abuses and misconduct are shamefully rife. It's because criminal for-profit corporations are allowed to participate and run the centers and that right there should be a no-go from the start, but it isn't, because in this country nobody guards the gate. Really, they don't. It's always a crooked collusion between so-called regulators, Court officials sometimes even social workers and hospital workers and these types of places. I'm willing to grant that sometimes some of these workers honestly do not know better and thought these places were responsible, but I know sometimes they do know. A lot of exposes in lawsuits have come out regarding these facilities over the past ten years.
I'm fine with cracking down on various consumer goods I don't care about that, as long as they don't make that they're so focused but were their efforts are desperately needed are in healthcare and behavioral care. A little enforcement and a few simple regulatory changes could have huge ripple effects.

Very simple- set hard quantifiable market share limits by law, say 50%. No single firm may dominate or merge into controlling more than 50% of a single industry.
Big business is a curse on this planet and is the root cause of everything wrong. I'm 100% hostile to them and I'll never be changing my position. I'm not saying businesses can't or shouldn't be allowed to grow, but there should be a hard and enforced upper limit.
They want to have absolute power over this planet and that should not be allowed. Nobody wins this way other than their chief shareholders and managing board. Literally everybody else loses- consumers, the environment, indigenous communities, the developing world, the developed world, workers in these firms, etc.
Big business is tantamount to organized crime and it should be subject to extreme controls otherwise, it will never stop trying to consume everything in its path and nothing matters other than that next worthless quarterly profit. It's a model based on infinite greed, and it's absolute bullshit. Workers in these criminal enterprises don't even benefit- only those at or near the top do.

So Sam goes to prison for doing exactly ALL OF WALL STREET AND ALL OF BIG BUSINESS AND ALL THE BIG BANKS DO EVERY FUCKING DAY, yet he was the only one charged.
White collar fraud is literally what Congress gets paid to PROTECT and ALLOW- yet this guy didn't get that same protection. Guess he's not in the US Special Crime club- he's a young punk and they don't like ANYONE WHO ISNT THEM HELPING THEMSELVES TO THE SPOILS. He's not in the club- he didn't pay the right people for protection - so the feds saw him as easy pickings. THEY DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO WORK FOR IT - THEY GOT TWO PATHETIC SNITCHES TO DO THEIR WORK FOR THEM! It's so easy being a fed! People think you have absolute god-level power so they ship themselves when you threaten them even though those threats usually mean less than Aaron can almost never be carried out because they usually have next to nothing on them and give me a non-rigid jury would almost always vote to quit but the person being threatened doesn't know that so they should themselves and turn around and literally throw anyone and everyone including their parents under the bus to save their own disgusting sorry filthy skin.
THAT'S HOW THE PSYCHOPATHIC MIND OF HOW A FEDERAL AGENCY ATTACK DOG WORKS. EVERY FUCKING TIME! And hey- people are raused6ti be afraid of big brother and they usually cave- so why mess with what works?!
what the point of the feds here??? Some young guy got rich DOING EXACTLY WHAT EVERYONE WHO'S EVER BEEN RICH IN THIS COUNTRY HAS EVER DONE, WHAT THE ENTIRE BIG MONEY SECTOR DOES, BUT WE DON'T LIKE IT BUT HE'S NOT IN THE CLUB SO WE'RE GOING AFTER HIM? BASICALLY.
The biggest white collar robbers are literally EVERY LEGACY BANK, EVERY SENATOR AND EVERY WALL STREET OPERATOR and EVERY BIG BUSINESS that ever breathed air - and used the same
2008 anyone?!? Oh no prison time? Aww shucks cuz they didn't really mean to do what they did right!?! Those guys didn't really mean it they totally didn't do anything wrong, poor banksters why are we being so hard on them!?! CMON GUYS!! They only made a few billion while everyone else lost their home and life savings and some killed themselves .... come on what's so bad about that?
Cases like this are to make one point and one point only, if you're not in the club you BETTER stay poor or we're going to come and destroy you because we are PSYCHOPATHS born and forged in hell and that's who we are so don't fuck with us!
If there's one message from federal interests in the US, that is it: to citizens and non-citizens ALIKE. that's who they are- evil incarnate. THEY DESERVE ALL THE MONEY AND ALL THE RESOURCES ON EARTH AND IF ANYONE ELSE THAT DARES TRY TO TAKE THEIR SHARE THEY WILL BE A TARGET.
Pretty fucking evil. I tell you what if it's something that the feds took action against I'm automatically forward on GP alone. The protect and turn a blind eye to white collar or non-white collar evil all day long, if it comes from their club of elites but if someone outside of it dares to think they have the same rights to prosper either through legal or not so legal means boy oh boy the federal filth are going to be on them like stink on shit!
Idk of SBF is a bad guy, all I know is he is NO WORSE than literally ANYONE ELSE in his field, including the entirety of the elite business and Wall Street sector in this IRREDEEMABLY psychopathic disgusting fifth-world country run by shameless demons who will stop at nothing to destroy good people while protecting the true destroyers.

For someone who hasn't been able to put away enough or any money for retirement, good luck living on social security alone- its levels are pathetic and wont do a damn thing for you unless your home is paid off. Oh but can't afford your ongoing property taxes? Enjoy losing your home and facing homelessness if you cant persuade your local county to grant you a deferral or some sort of reduction. It's totally ok to rip a family's/person's only home away from them simply because one cant afford their latest round of property taxes. I find this morally repugnant and evil. If I have any way of changing it in my lifetime, in my state, I'm going to try to do so. Imagine thinking it's okay to steal someone's home sometimes even literally stealing the equity, because you couldn't pay a few thousand dollars. Truly satanic but that's the kind of animals we elect in this country. These kind of practices are considered normal because they have been normalized for so long and just like slavery, we're being forced to accept evil as good.
The RIGHT to a decent retirement has been attacked from every direction for so long and the fact that you're acting like Labor is responsible for this is risible, Patrick.
Maybe if we didn't have a federal, state and even county body of goons/demons/lunatics that only care about blowing the top 2% for kickbacks and favors, working tirelessly for their rich cronies and coming up with ever more ways to transfer more wealth from the bottom and the middle to the top, at an ever-increasing speed, gobbling up all of the available wealth for themselves, leaving a steadily- shrinking piece of the pie for the rest of us, there would be enough to go around. Maybe then we wouldn't have exploding homelessness, early death and a massive debt crisis for 2/3 to 3/4 of the American population.
Patrick, you're an absolute c7nt if you sincerely blame this on hardworking working people. I really wish I could say that to your face. Blaming working people who have EVERY RIGHT to demand these standards for political self-servingness and the greed of CEOs and business elites is not a new one but it's as wrong as ever.
FIRST of all, it's a federal government's responsibility to offer robust national healthcare as a human right to ALL, so that private businesses don't HAVE to pay that kind of expense if they don't wish to. These filth on the federal mint, they can pay for anything thet goddamn well please! Comprehensive head to toe healthcare is a basic human need and ergo a human RIGHT!!!!! MAYBE businesses should start demanding Congress do their job and stop offloading is there a fundamental responsibilities to private providers!
Healthcare should never have to come out of company expenses; outside of the very largest companies, that is an outrageously unfair burden. That is the job of regional and central government!!! Could you imagine a privately funded VA system? There would be no way. Maybe if a billionaire chose to but otherwise, no. The elite political filth that occupy DC's shelves are always operating from the model of privatizing the costs and socializing the benefits, that's the age-old name of the game for Wall Street and their protectors on capitol hill. MAYBE if we had a so-called government that felt a shred of a moral obligation to give a living fuck about the people who elect them (I MEAN WHAT THE FUCK AM I PAYING MY GODDAMN TAXES FOR?? BECAUSE RIGHT NOW THE IRS IS FUCKING ALL OF US IN THE A$$ AND WE'RE GETTING SHIT FOR IT and I don't see that changing); instead of taking bribes to put more money in their own pocket and protect big business at all costs.
There are easy ways to provide for EVERYBODY at EVERY age but it won't be done under our current model of privatizing ALL the gains and socializing ALL the losses and giving everything to the top 2%.
I literally can't believe you're blaming working people for demanding what they should have been given in the first place my guy. Where do you think all the wealth on this planet comes from? It ALL goes back to sweat equity. NOTHING happens without work or an idea- mental and physical labor generates everything on this goddamn planet that is then seized by some other cuntsucker who usually has no right to it.
When labor makes their demands they have every right and much more. Imagine a house that needed to get painted, now imagine nobody actually painted it. There would be no house painted, and no money will change hands.
WORKERS CREATE EVERYTHING ON THIS PLANET AND WE DESERVE EVERYTHING THAT WE PRODUCE!!!
As for investors and shareholders, they deserve a fair return for whatever they put in- BUT NOT ONE PENNY MORE!! Right now shareholders and the board of directors take next to everything and that is absolutely goddamn fucking guts-out disgusting and bogus.
Every single amount of wealth on this planet was produced from someone who worked for it! An idea is beautiful but it's nothing without others heads and hands to carry it out!!!!! I think you need some help seeing the big picture Patrick.
As for me I'll probably be broke as fuck as I have been most of my life. I'm not rich enough to buy any politician so there won't be anything there for me when my time comes, while big business billionaires and mega-millionaires continue to proliferate and take everything the bottom 90% create; meanwhile of course we're still expected to pay our taxes, given next to no government assistance (bailouts are only for billionaires and Wall Street in this country, naturally) and of course, rent costs for those who haven't been fortunate enough to buy or inherit continue to explode. For now I'm ok but I definitely expect to be homeless in my future and so will millions of other people - I mean how can it be OTHERWISE given the current trajectories of public policy and unfettered banking and landlord greed?? Even certain professional and paraprofessional jobs don't pay much (some do, it depends); if you work for a large employer they're always trying to shit on your wages, stab you in the back and take your benefits), and so on.
More and more homes will be seized and taken wrongfully by county-level mafioso demons, or gobbled up by private equity gangsters; more and more people won't be able to afford rent for a broom closet and where will this leave us? The only destination possible, mass tent cities. So either that's going to be the new normal or hired death squads will be the political response. I mean that's what Henry VIII did in the Middle Ages; he just killed a few thousand of his poorest citizens. Easy solution as he saw it. Hang some kids, who cares? Of course that just made the next group the poorest but I don't expect logic was his strong point, nor is it for our current band of political vultures and policymakers - the bottom 80-90% have rarely mattered to political trash this country and they don't matter now. As usual, we're almost entirely on our own and we're being set upon by predators from all directions, some government; some private business. Its the name of the game in America. Only the top 5% matter, everyone else can go hang.
