Recently received my first Adderall prescription. It hasn't worked for me, it hasn't done anything other than worsen my depression significantly. I've had a rotten life but normally I'm really not depressed I try to focus on the present and what I have to do, this Adderall has made that near impossible. I wish I knew if this was just me or if there's a problem going on with these meds right now.

If you had actual adhd you would realize why that statement is false. Some people genuinely need these medications to help them function at an optimum level. Please don't talk about what you just don't know.

Same with me. I just recently started on prescribed adhd meds. First I was prescribed Wellbutrin, well that didn't do anything for me and now I'm trying Adderall, and that isn't doing anything for me. I'm taking high dosages too. Something would seem to be going on.

This past week I received my first Adderall prescription, my first prescription for an ADHD medication ever. So far it just hasn't done anything for me. There's a slight elevated heart rate but that is all. I feel no cognitive difference at all. I've taken up to 60mg during a single day. I'll try 70mg tomorrow. It could just be that my body chemistry isn't compatible with adderal or there really is an issue with the formulation currently.

I'm so glad to hear this. I think for most people it works very well. I suppose I'm one of the minority then. I just tried at Adderall for the first time, my first adhd medicine, and unfortunately it didn't work for me. In fact it's thrown me into one of the worst fugue states I've ever had. It's weird because overall I'm a very emotionally stable person but something about it just seemed to trigger old wounds. So that was a bit unexpected. Its phasing out of my system now and I'm feeling better and better as it does. Strange..... Didn't expect that at all. I'm trying to push through a stuck spot in my life right now and that is definitely not going to be the way feeling like that. Welp, on to Dexedrine. Hoping for better luck there. I'd prefer not to use any prescriptions but at this point I could use the extra help so if I can find one that works for me, I'm going to give it a try for a while.

@theamerican7080 brain disregulation has probably always been around in some form or another. People coped with or treated it the best they could. There's a lot of modern medicine but hasn't been around very long.

I just tried adderal for the first time and it hasn't done anything for me. I use a relatively high dosage. You might be right. What could be going on I wonder?

@d.renemorgan8848 ADHD is quite real. You are just wrong. Believe what you wish but you just made a false statement.

@joes-wife hey thanks for chiming in! Yeah I took the whole prescription and it really didn't do anything for me- was very strange. It seemed to make me way more emotionally sensitive than normal and it was a struggle not to be depressed. Almost felt suicidal at one point. Couldn't really focus. A little energy boost at times but not much, even when I took far higher than recommended. Now I'm waiting on Ritalin so I'll see how that works for me. In the meantime I've made a lot of good progress with good OTC nootropics. I've tried thesis, noonbrew, superfeast teas, and NDT thyroid meds from overseas. They all help. If you're curious about other useful brain boosters andrew huberman has an upload on the subject plus there are other useful nootropic yt chnls. High healthy fats and high protein diet seem to help me too.

@joes-wife let me know if you can't see my other reply

@SAMEntalhealth thanks. Yeah it really didn't work for me. Maybe it's manufacturer has been messing around with the formula or has been substituting cheaper compounds that go into it, I really don't know. It was strange. I'll be trying Ritalin soon and I'll see if that makes it kind of noticeable difference for me. My focus has gotten a lot better since then though and there have been some good OTC products that have helped. Also I've just been able to clue back into life and start making progress again just by realizing I needed to and I was wasting way too much time, which I didn't want to be in the position of.

@SAMEntalhealth wow I just tried to respond and YouTube ate it for some completely bizarre reason. I can't imagine anything was in it that would trigger the comment bot. I'll try to repost.

@SAMEntalhealth I don't know it's so weird. YouTube is such a weirdo these days. I see your last three comments here. I still don't see mine that didn't show up, but I see the one where I referred to that. So annoying.

Have all the meds you've tried in the past 6 months not work for you??

@HH-gv8mx I hate that stimulant medications are controlled. It's ridiculous.

@reigenara2824 thanks for your info. Well I did try lower doses for a few days and felt nothing so then slowly I tried higher ones over subsequent days. I have passed on adderal for now, I will consider trying it again in the future but now I'm waiting for some Ritalin to arrive and to see if that helps me. I took the whole prescription of Adderall and didn't feel anything positive from it unfortunately.
