  2. So why did they just now find their balls after 12 years?? Do they ever think for one second the US was going to threaten them with violence? They just do that to poor small non-white majority countries. Not saying they wouldn't talk tough but they like to wear the velvet glove with their Western friends. Did they think the US would actually sanction them? I don't think they would even go that far. Aus largest trading partners China and I'm just not sure that the US would want to kick that hornet's nest even though they're certainly trying to provoke China through Taiwan.... So maybe they would, I'm not sure on that one. Even if it came to nothing, Aussie leaders could have been demanding assange from day 1. At least go on record. I guess they just didn't care as long as they could stay in the good graces of empire. I wonder what changed. We either take a stand against gratuitously evil acts and overt fascism or we don't. I guess in Oz if you're in the govt you don't. I can't say better late than never because this is just so late the man could be dead before they get him back. In fact I've heard reports he is dying.
