The future is obviously nuclear and renewables, and hopefully fusion by 2100, the only question is how long until we get there? The cost as far as I'm concerned is immaterial. Everything comes with a certain upfront cost. Overtime all those costs will pay off and there will only be ongoing maintenance costs. Same as with anything. Everything in life has an initial investment. It would be foolish to be against a particular technology or project simply because of its initial costs. What benefit will provide over its lifetime of function?, is the much bigger question. I would say the cost to lives, world peace, and localized genocidal destruction can hardly be underestimated when discussing fossil fuels and the current US petro-State empire of death and resource theft. How long will ruthless fossil fuel gangster jefes control their willing human pets in governments around the world??? We are still finding out. The future will be decided one way or another between powers with represent the interests of psychopaths, global thieves, and destroyers, and those who care for this planet and all those who live here. DC won't be able to remain in its current form in that new world which I see as an absolute win. Genocidal petro-states will have no role in that world. That's pretty awesome for literally EVERYONE fucking else currently alive. Take it from a vet. Switch to renewables, dethrone fossil fuels and you cut at the heart of these remorseless killers. Other resource conflicts may still exist, but I have more faith that they can be won in the interest of the workers and the local country (tho it may not happen overnight).

We can't afford NOT to maximize our nuclear power potential. Fossil fuels are unsustainable, even someone who loves muscle cars as much as I can see this. Other renewables are great and should be maximized but all together they can't supplant the value of one reliable nuclear plant. Nuclear will get us off fossil fuels the fastest and is a totally clean energy source, including new technology for totally safe waste disposal including reuse as new fuel. For those who are informed and have a brain it's all very exciting and sensible once you have the facts.

As always, federal funding and political will would put nuclear development on light speed NOS factor. Look what happened with the space race in the 60s. All it took was the bigwigs being behind it. It's easily doable but when you live under a ruthless blood-soaked sa6tanic petro-State you know that that's not going to be supported. So we push forward anyways. Government has no moral legitimacy, it's just the local gang with the biggest gun. Period. In this country it's absolutely equal to organized crime; the agenda is to genoside the world for Oil State profits. I can't possibly support this. I'm looking forward to a new world order based on clean energy and a decent world for everyone where the current philth have no more power and are jeered at like the philth that they are. This goes as much for Repubs as Dems in my book, and pretty much everything associated with DC, short a few entities.
