@AlmightyBeezy nothing justifies an atomic bomb. Neither bomb was necessary and that is a fact.

@alexwalters35 war always brings out the best and the worst in human nature. I will never justify atrocities no matter who does them. Some Japanese forces of the time did terrible things and they should have to answer for those. Nonetheless an atom bomb only affects civilians, and as such I can never justify it. I don't believe it's acceptable to deliberately target civilians in war, ever. Civilian deaths should always be minimized or voided whenever possible. If it were up to me I would have never approved the a-bombs. Total war is evil and wrong. Its easy to justify it now in hindsight that it was unavoidable, but that just wasn't true. Worse that would have happened is we would have fought on for a few months longer but the Japanese leadership knew it was over. And since then we have occupied Japan with our bases. When will that country get to be its own entity? How the hell haven't they thrown us out yet, that's what I want to know. We have no right to be on their soil this should have ended decades ago. God I hate DC so goddamn much.
