Unfortunately given the past eight years, I'd say under the circumstances the SMO was justified. Taking into account all factors, I probably would have done the same. Fighting IS justified under limited circumstances. That being said, I hope a diplomatic resolution is reached soon. Ordinary Ukrainians are the losers out of all this and they don't deserve this strife. Unfortunately, let's put the blame on the Kiev regime post-2014 who wouldn't abide by the Minsk accords or stop attacking the Donbass regions. For eight years. That's too long to stand by and do nothing. I doubt Putin is any hero, but he did the right thing in this case.

Everyone needs a self-identity, i.e. a cultural identity, but I think it's a real shame some people can only find theirs in white supremacy... ...

Unfortunately the US govt took advantage of this element of society, exploited it, armed it, trained it, and very much helped to create what is happening now. It's a real shame.

Don't forget about recycling and redistributing any excess. It's called just don't waste. We are a sorry wasteful throwaway society but we can change that by creating a circular economy. We can have laws and policies in place to this effect that provide easy plans and pathways for individual households and businesses alike to always reuse, repurpose, or donate their excess. We can have CCCs/NCCs, county or neighborhood collection centers where excess from business and home alike can be taken to be redistributed for free and/or very low cost to the community. So long is the excess isn't wasted, overproduction isn't a major issue, altho businesses should still try to minimize it because of environmental impacts, and we can work more on that over time.

Whoa take it easy with your fatalism my boi. Sooner or later we will figure it out it's that simple. Great strides are already being made. Many solutions are already in the pipeline, the problem is corrupt politicians filling the governments of most nations. They will be a problem however, I believe one that will be eventually overcome.

@deziderziga1484 yes. DC is what I like to call..... A F.ÜCKING ASSHOLE. I live here and I oppose their agenda which is being a FARKING ASSHOLE. More specifically, permanent war because war = $$$$$. Well not for you and me but for big defense supply corporations etc etc. I don't think non-stop mass murder for sport and corporate profit and a sense of US supremacy is ok. I mean, sure we could keep doing this forever but what's the endgame???? Nuclear war?? It's nonproductive and destructive and as such I oppose it. There's a growing number of people stateside that are sick and tired of the bullshit from the White House and some of us are very vocal about it.

@mac2105 Taliban aren't good guys but they never gave two shits about the US. They didn't have terrorists and they weren't holding OBL but claimed to know where he was and offered to give him up one week after 9/11. We had no right to enter Afg even tho pushing the Talibs to the margins at least gave the locals a chance to have a better life for a while. Uncomfortable it came with too high a cost - CIA death squads and nonstop drone strikes. All on penniless Afghans. They died for nothing, like target practice. For no reason. Because people in the Pentagon won't stop trying to kill people, esp Brown people. It's wrong.

@politika8087 I think so. I mean I think we've swung way too far to the right where everything is grossly overproduced now and then half of it ends up in the landfill and that is shit so if we can try to bring back to a more reasonable centerpoint with more degrowth and less mindless production, and then whatever happens to be left over at this point, and I'm sure there will be a fair amount because there's so much about consumption that can't be perfectly predicted, we can have redistributive pathways in place. My super secret two step process for a better economy is™️: > Sensible production Plus, > Full redistribution of all products coming off New Production for the purposes of re-use, salvage or resale by the public or industry. There's no reason why we can't have multiple steps of redistribution for industrial products and components. Some of these are already in place but I believe we can do much more. Most things can be reused in constructive ways.

I believe NLRBE is the future imo but I don't believe we'll get there for quite some time yet, at least 100-200 years. IMO....

Appreciate all this. Thanks everyone. Look forward to hearing more. So I'm for some central planning in large industry and strongly regulated markets for everything else. I just don't believe one way fits all. Life is complicated and it's tempting to want to boil it down to some simple principles and just one basic template but I just don't believe life works like that. I'm a both/and not an either/or kind of person. I believe we need multiple approaches to get the best results. Plus I believe business is a very valuable thing and can be a force for good IF Labor and our community rights - and our common environment - are protected. With those protections in place enterprise can be a positive thing that serves everyone.
