It really may take that. In the interim, I hope to see more outspoken Leftists rise up and run for office. Getting more ethical people in office is certainly the next most logical step. Maybe we can transition to a better more humane social model thru political action alone. If not, well I guess we'll have to try something else.

I believe in MMT, semi-market Socialism, and ALL people over the relentless profit-seeking of a few. FUCK hyper-capitalism. Fuck ANYTHING other than a highly-regulated private market subject to the public sector upheld by ACTUAL democracy that puts ALL OF US first, NOT just a precious top 10%.

@chrisgaming9567 well maybe in the future it may. You know that Cuba's takeover in '59 was mostly bloodless right? I'm not opposed to bearing arms, at all, but if we could activate just 10% of people nationwide who don't vote now, across all demos, to vote for at least a Blue candidate, but ideally a Progessive Leftists (while trying to get actual Leftists on the ballot), things would change. I do think it's possible to take over electorally, tho it doesn't feel satisfying that way- altho I agree so far it hasn't happened. That doesn't mean it can't or won't. I think the biggest problem is MSM. MSM serves the corporate duopoly of course and that leaves the Left at a disadvantage unless we can start "PNN" or "LNN" on broadcast channel 9.

Is it that bad I believe 8:20 is a good thing??? I'm pretty far Left, but I don't think we should want to get rid of the private sector, just squash the big corps as much as possible. People want to run their own businesses and such. I don't think it's practical or ideal or desirable for the State to do everything- I want people in society to feel free and empowered to open their own businesses and answer only to themselves, just so long as they don't become an insane multinational- and I do believe in a very strong and reinforced public sector where all proper benefits are provided. Is this the "market" Socialism model??? Objections? Agreements? I always call myself a civil libertarian and an economic Socialist. I see nothing wrong with a private sector so long as workers have equal voice and are protected. I see large chains and multinationals, and unlimited private wealth as they threat, not business itself; but I'm willing to hear arguments on this.

I find myself agreeing with most if not all of that, but I still don't see the harm in a well-managed private sector and FAIR trade agreements, not "free" trade per se. I still want us, the workers, to have all necessary input and control, along with any owners. An equal partnership. I envision a vibrant private sector with hard upper limits on how large any individual business can grow as set by law. Taxation voluntary for all but the highest incomes and any private enterprise over a certain size. State-provided material guarantees paid thru taxation and federal currency issuing. Strong regulations on private enterprise to protect all consumers, smaller businesses, workers, animals, and the environment. I do support most restrictions on IP being ended, but I think a few basic ones make sense. I believe we're pretty close in vision, possibly I'm getting caught up in semantics. Regardless, considering the death grip the ugly mega-capitalist class has on the rule of the US, I feel installing even a lukewarm social democracy here will be a Herculean task, one I hope to see completed in my lifetime and I feel it's unproductive to expect anything better than that in our lifetime- not that we shouldn't be embracing a more ideal end state, but we also need to be practical and focus as much on our tangible reality, real world capability, and the level of entrenched opposition forces as possible.

@Just_A_Goose1 I understand what may have been past problems, and I welcome all that information, we certainly should study history, but the future hasn't happened yet- we can't say for certain what would or wouldn't work under these unique conditions. As far as taking over, that sounds great and all, and I'm not opposed to violence if it's necessary, but I don't see how that's actually possible here. You've got local and state police, plus the NG, and all that. I'm willing to hear Bob Avakian's thoughts on it- but I'm afraid I don't see the nuts and bolts path forward with that, at least yet. Besides, we'll never be able get more than a couple 1000 together at any one time, if that. I don't see that being enough. Now if the majority just up and decided to stop paying their local county and city taxes (with the exception of property Bec that supports our schools), that would suddenly change matters. If we want to radically defund the police gangs and limit their function and reach, and we know most city councils are corrupt and literally set up for the cops, they clearly could give a fuck about anyone else, then just stop paying these fools. What if everyone did that??? JUST STOP BEING EXTORTED BY THIS SYSTEM. The courts can't arrest, steal from (sieze), or prosecute everyone now can they? I don't support mandatory taxation on private incomes below $400,000 anyways.

And you didn't really address my points of voluntary divestment from forced taxation, which would have a much more immediate effect, or the fact I stated curiosity as to the specifics of HOW such revolution could currently be acheived.

There's no way we could do anything by force right now, even if we could get 5000 people to act together, which we couldn't. @kaceyquispe4666 I'm not saying it was perfect then or now, but I believe those were the elites who were either worried about not knowing what the future would bring, and/or unhappy about the poors now getting a chance at a better life (I guess they thought they would be losing something in the process; perhaps they thought Castro's men would take their land. I don't know all the details of the aftermath of the Cuban revolution, such as if there was land seizures or not).

@kaceyquispe4666 I'm mostly against the large multinationals and other large multiple location corporations. I'm not against non-corporate or non-huge businesses for lack of a better term. So long as they meet proper Labor and wage standards (much higher wages than currently mandated for entry-level positions if I had my way), aren't polluting the environment or community, aren't engaging in price-gouging or price-fixing; then I wish them well.
