@youtubehatesfreespeech2555 People should get paid FOR working not pay TO work. I'm not sure I understand this comment at all.

@grimnir2782 thanks for sharing your superficial opinion with us, and nothing else in the way of support or proof. We're glad you believe the hype and since you do, why do you frequent Hakim's channel at all?

@youtubehatesfreespeech2555 if you mean through taxes for public infrastructure, sure yes. If you mean personal tools for jobs that require them, sure. As far as other machinery or materials needed for a certain job, many of those are provided by the employer. I'm not sure as to your point though.

Oh really? What kinds of things are happening there in this regard? I live in the US and I really don't know anything about it.

@grimnir2782 I never said I was a communist, not that I think there's anything wrong with it in theory. I do consider myself a pretty strong Leftist however. I don't know enough about the Berlin Wall to speak on it. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable on these matters like Hakim can explain more why at the time it was felt to be necessary by the then-govt. I'm glad it's in the past now bec border walls in general are bad thing in my view. I'm sure it had a lot to do with the USSR feeling under threat from the West at the time. It is regrettable that it was used to prevent the free movement of citizens on either side of it. I'm sure if I researched more specifically the realities of the Cold War at the time, details would emerge that would make it more understandable phenomenon. I can't say for certain, but perhaps if the US had not spearheaded an all out hostile agenda towards the USSR, one that the US State Dept is continuing to this day, those responsible for it may not have felt it necessary. I decry authoritarianism in all its forms, and it is very regrettable the hardship that it caused, but the world was a different place back then. I will reserve judgment until I know more about all sides of the issue.

@odst2247 as in moon mining??? Actually it will probably happen. I just hope when it does the profits don't go to solely to some asshole giant corporation.

@justsomeguy6336 this is a convenient cop out and excuse for the exploiters who benefit from the current system, but it's very rarely true.

@PsychedeliKompot you DO know a more socialist based economic system does not necessarily have ANYTHING to do with embracing authoritarianism right?? authoritarianism is political repression and that can occur concurrent with any type of economy. There's a lot of tyranny in the US where I live right now depending on who you are, where you live and how many Pigs are going to be preying on you based on your skin color. You sound really immature and uninformed when you fall back on those old tired tropes. I would urge you to do a bit more research and seek a bit more information before you criticize previous iterations of economic communism or socialism, because you don't sound unintelligent overall.

@justsomeguy6336 you're 15. Please don't speak to me I can feel your virginity from here. Do you think you could ever say anything original? Vuvusuela iPhone! 100 billion trillion zyborgs dead! Jesys fng krist go touch grass. there's a place for a private market, I'm not against it as long as it's fairly regulated. You need a lot more education too. All of the uninformed and false major accusations of previous iterations of economic communism our socialism have been debunked and disproved many times over by intelligent presenters and analyzers. Why don't you watch a few of those videos and try thinking for a change instead of just falling back on lazy memes? You don't have to become a major Marxist overnight or anything, I don't even know if I would call myself a flag-waving communist but I most definitely a Socialist. At this point you're clearly speaking out your ass because you're just throwing out lazy criticisms that make it clear that you've never actually studied this to see where the flaws were but also what about it worked well and for who. Life is a series of trial and error. Clearly all the nations in the world haven't figured it out perfectly yet. If there were flaws in previous iterations of economic communism, who's to say that those flaws can't be learned from and done better so that the next version can be improved and made that much better? Hyper-predatory capitalism that really only serves the interest of the top 5 to 10% isn't great either, bub. Out of control rent costs and poor wages shouldn't have to be the reality for 50 to 60% of America. There are ways to regulate and manage an economy so that it works for everyone and meets everyone's basic needs.
