I'm relieved to hear they don't charge the locals the same prices as us. That's fair. I hope the local providers care enough about their neighbors to ensure this continues. Essential healthcare should always be available to all, and sometimes this requires a sliding scale of fees.

Thank you Mex doctors. Thank you so much for being the alternative many of us desperately need.

And in most cases you don't have to feel bad because the exchange rate favors Mexican citizens. So we save money and they make a good living. So far, it's win-win and I pray it stays that way. I would be happy to even pay much more because so long as it was affordable for me, it's worth doing.

@midlifecrisis7888 no problem. But public healthcare needs to exist for those who cannot afford private care.
3
@ChickenTenders97 I wish I could cut through all your crazy brainwashing but even I can't handle that. Oof. Even the best of us have to realize when we're overmatched. Good luck to you.
3
@coimbralaw or, and stay with me here- if we all work together we can ALL be winners. Cooperation- it's more than a word in the dictionary. we're All in This together.
3
I'm surprised there are any successful dentists' offices here in San Diego County considering we're so close to the border with Tijuana.
2
I'm more than happy to spend my money in Mexico. I see them as our brothers and sisters. As you can imagine I support a completely open border policy with them and the rest of South America. Racists will have to go elsewhere if they hope to get a reaction from me.
2
@frednugent2310 why am I a fool? That's great. Good for you. Look I'm not against private healthcare existing I'm just against the LACK of the existence of fully-funded comprehensive public healthcare. That's all.
2
@livingmini5259 I'm very sorry to hear this. Please lobby your lawmakers to make it better then. Sounds to me like it's a funding problem or a mismanagement problem or both.
2
@FargonNemeloc yes and that happens all the time here! Insurance companies are shameless here. It's a scary system. Med insurance bosses are often very greedy and ruthless, will deny many necessary procedures that policyholders believed to be covered. It's the dangers of forcing everyone to rely on such a greed-motivated system, without a public alternative or better regulation. I'm glad it's overall much saner where you live.
2
@frednugent2310 eh it's nothing personal.
2
@anonymousdogg1559 I don't have time to launch into a big Powerpoint presentation but the fact is the national debt does not actually matter at fkng all. It's no reason not to guarantee healthcare to every citizen no reason at all.
2
@midlifecrisis7888 I have my issues with some forms of mandatory taxation but yes- healthcare is a human right in a developed country. But I guess you feel your way and I feel mine.
2
@joaopedroalmeidda8693 you live in Brazil? Do you think all taxes are wrong? I'm honestly asking.
2
@frednugent2310 awww that's so nice of you. Well you too
2
It comes down to your value system. My values tell me that healthcare is a human right and I'm willing to fight for that for the rest of my life. If this means my taxes go up, so be it. It's well worth it.

YOU'RE GODDAMN RIGHT!!!!!!!! FREE PALESTINE!!!
1
@JK-gu3tl NO. NOT EVEN CLOSE. YOU'RE AN IDIOT.
1
DONT TRY TO CONVINCE THE MORONS. ANYONE WITH A BRAIN AND CONSCIENCE CAN SEE THE TRUTH
1
@freedomsands8891 that's fine. You should have the choice of both.
1
@frednugent2310 BETTER THAN NEVER FOO'
1
@Riezanesz you're not smort
1
@ohsweetmystery nope. Bye.
1
@jacquelinemarquez485 how moral. How refreshing.
1
@properdukes9091 I don't mind paying more for this reason but yep taxes should predominately go to the top.
1
@dennyatkins3842 and that's a beautiful sound isn't it? That's music to my ears
1
@midlifecrisis7888 sure. That's you're right to have your opinion. People still deserve covered healthcare.
1
@mralabatalla I haven't spoken to every last Canadian lately but it's my understanding the majority would definitely NOT want to take away their right to covered healthcare even if the current system has some flaws that could use attention.
1
@optimal8155 fair, but nothing is perfect. So which is the best not perfect option? Public healthcare available to all with a private healthcare model for those who want it.
1
@JK-gu3tl no YOUR broke. Govts like ours can't go broke- they make their own money. They can print out the wazoo, always could. Inflation? Nope not to the degree you've been led to believe. It's government's responsibility to spend and fund otherwise why have one? We all use the same currency so it all works out in the end.
1
@howcanyouknowme I prefer to see more regulations on the private market and full publicly-funded healthcare. But I'm open to more providers in the private market. I think more capable providers is always a good thing provided they're properly regulated.
1
@JakeTapeWallets you're rad.
1
@TMoon1111 unfortunately frendo that's because your politicians are scumbags and are choosing to starve the program. If you bought a house and never maintained it and let termites come in, you would have problems yes? Your politicians are purposely allowing if not actively putting termites into your health system. This is bad. As here, I believe all of y'all need to clean house in your political sector. Politicians can either serve the masses or they can serve the super elite and the corpos. Your choice. I don't think your current Labour party is genuinely Left; they seem to be co-opted to me but I don't know enough about it to be sure.
1
@bigbosskingpingeorge kind of sort of but not really. Isn't that a beautiful thing? Yes yes it is
1
@VoteOrDie99 you're smort. Seems like it's getting rarer and rarer I like smort peple
1
@parler8698 ehhh sure it is pallo
1
@Nabonidus-m7x no ofc not. Those are ugly things that should never have happened. Aware people in the States can't stand what DC does abroad.
1
@jacobuszwanenburg1629 that's very sad if true. Tell your politicians to fund of the program properly then. Cars cannot run without fuel.
1
@eomyenom1 nah it's good
1
@sararichardson737 lol it's backwards and hyper materialist on just about everything here
1
@frednugent2310 well thanks ted I mean fred nugent. You keep on saying nice things. gosh I don't know what to say 😄

Try mexico!
1
If the poor or low-income are very serious about going to Mexico for their medical needs they just need to find a way to relocate to a border town. The rents are usually cheaper than in the rest of the local county as well. I know it is here in San Diego. Our rents are mostly outrageous, but within the areas bordering Tijuana they're the cheapest in the county. That's not saying much compared to the rest of the country, but at least it's better locally.
